Anyone else do this before??

Soooo, the other weekend, 2 weekends ago, we had some family out, so the drinks were flowing. I had a few chicken breasts out so we decided to do home made breaded chicken fingers. Sliced the breasts, dipped in caesar salad dressing, then covered in panko and seasoning. We have done these a few times. Kids made a nice dip for them. Anyways, i was cooking 2 batches in the egg at the same time. took one out, moved the bottom one to the top for a little more heat/browning, went in and we started eating, they were really good.

Next day i noticed, sh*t, i didnt shut the egg down, that was a first (I think). Then the following night when i went to clean it out and fire it up for dinner. blammo the other batch of chicken. They were fairly "browned" alright.

Just thought I would share that one. the wife got a kick out of it anyways.

I've left the egg without snuffing the fire, but never with food on it - yet!

Many many years ago when I drank and did other things that a man should not do i left a whole packer in my smoker over the summer. Before you ask no it wasnt good. We all make mistakes. All we can do is try to learn from them.

Back in University a friend noticed that their gas BBQ, which was hooked to the house gas line, didn't have any snow on it in March.  Seemed odd given the snow just the night before.  Opened it up to find it was still burning from the last time they grilled - in November.
At least the Egg will eventually go out on its own.
