I wanted it to replace the Amazin smoker since I have 100 lbs. of pellets but also be able to do chips and chunks hence the two screens. The heater elements fit into the wells. Beta testing tonight. First problem- 6" x 6" tube will not fit in an 8" diameter hole. It works on top of the grate but that makes it a bit tall. I'll cut them down tomorrow.

You need 8.5" hole to get an 6" OD square tube in…..should've asked the kids to calculate it for you. As a Dad, your job is balancing the cheque book, right?

I know that. It's been too cold to clean the egg out. It was full of ash when I measured. What is the ignition temp of wood 450* approx?

Successful beta. It's well sub zero now with a hefty wind and it is purring along at about half power. The egg is around 60*. Lots of adjustment each way.

It is actually a flux capacitor but I can charge more with this crew if we pretend it's a smoke generator. You should see what they pay for stuff.
