Dan4BBQ said:We have had some great dogs over the years. 2 minature schnausers when the kids were small.English Springer that passed at 12 about 4 years ago. Our yellow lab passed 1 month ago at 12. Our lab Cookie always love egging. We have an English Springer pup to be born in 2 weeks. My wife thinks that we need two pups.We have always gotten a pup when our dog got to be 6 or 8 years old--always loved it.Any thoughts about getting two pups?
@Dan4BBQ Got our 2nd dog when the first one was 7. I wish I had done that years earlier as it really is the more the merrier. When our older dog passed we got another pup about a month later. I will never be without at least 2 dogs for very long. I think it is better for them and we enjoy it. I have yet to meet a dog I didn't like.Large Big Green Egg in a nest. North Shore of Boston. -
True to my name on this forum, I have 4 Australian Cattle Dogs, aka Blue Heelers. Two were intentional and two were failed fosters. Nothing beats playing ball with them in the pool, drink in hand, while something is smoking away on the Egg.

Marlin, 7 mo. old Golden pup. Not a rescue. We have young boys, wanted them to have a newborn pup. And this pup is AMAZING, Highly trainable, schmat, loving, personable, and right now gangly. Like a brother to the boys. Oh, and he can read, too!

We have two Cavachons... 50% Caviler King Charles and 50% Bichon Frise. Brothers, the only two males from the litter of 6. Bach is in the back, and is the brains of the outfit. Mozart is in front and is the muscle for the pair. Turned 5 back in January. They are just a hair over 17lbs each.
Smartest and best behaved dogs I have ever encountered. They are so good, our family and friends ask us to bring them when visiting or staying with them...

i always see mention of rescue dogs, it has to be different in other parts of the country as an adopted pet here costs as much as a pure bred dog, puppies at the local shelter are 500 dollars, rabbits at the shelter are 75 dollars, these guys call themselves nonprofit
)my sister just picked up a boxer pup a month ago, come to find out its a pitbull, waiting to hear when her house insurance gets cancelled next as it will happen here, shelter lied all the way to the bank

Here's our dogs. Wally is a Goldendoodle and is about the smartest dog I've ever seen. Then there Evil Eve our Emglish bulldog. She is most definitely the dumbest and most stubborn dog I've ever seen. Lol. Love them both to death though.
