I caught that also and thought why? Wouldn't be better to have the coroner standing by?

Paramedic?  Coroner?  How about a couple of firemen to hose off the grease stain?  This is television after all.  If it was a pay-per-view or on HBO or something, have an extra camera crew to get close-ups of the carnage.
