Get your egg up to desired temp before installing PartyQ, like to eat batteries. I use mine for overnighters, love it!

I use it on my xl. I've changed the batts every time but it did 50lbs of butt with no problem.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

Cool thanks for input. For the money I like over the DigiQ. Already have the Mavrick.

Can you rig that thing to run off a wall-wart?

Why doesn't this blow ashes on to food?
-
It's not powerful enough to blow ashes, just enough to force oxygen in.Plenty powerful enough to handle and XL. I love mine so far. I don't even stabilize. I just let it do it's thing. (under shoot your goal temp by about 25 degrees, then let it stabilize with it at that temp and slowly ramp it up.)XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum

I have a Cyber Q WIFI and love it.
I get the lump going and set the Cyber Q to the temp I want and let it go
Here is a temp chart of one of my last cooks (Pit Pal)
Note that the big drops in temp was me adding wood or something
If your looking at the GURU I think it is well worth the 75 bucks and get the Cyber Q

I love my party q and also added a port to plug in a 6 volt wall transformer, so I don't have to use batteries when I have a power source. This makes those overnight cooks worry free now. I love it.

Best purchase EVERbesides the EGG!!!!
-
I have one and love it, also. I do have electricity close by, but not interested in the wifi control, etc of the upper (much more expensive) models.
I have had excellent experience with battery life, and BBQ Guru told me no problem using rechargeable batteries, so good!
