Where to post?

I am not sure where to post. Some forums - other places- not here- don't like general questions and comments in the wrong place. I asked a question on the general forum and got some really helpful advice. I am new and just don't want to irritate anyone.

Ask away and don't worry about any cranks on this board. Especially Little Steven - just has short man complex.

You have to work pretty hard to fire somebody up around here.  As long as you don't come on here trying to sell empty beer bottles or used lump you should be pretty good.
I raise my kids, cook and golf.  When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.

I put everything in the general forum too. Don't worry about irritating anybody. Everybody is pretty forgiving even if they make smart remarks it just means they like you.

several guys and gals put specific cooks in the beef, pork, poultry sections but I just use the egghead forum for everything.
That's something I've wondered about too.  I've posted some cooks in the "food-specific" sections and they seem to get almost no response, but in the Egghead forum there's a bit more.  On the other hand, if I was hungry for chicken, it'd be cool to hit the chicken section and see all the possibilities right there.
My bookmark for this forum is the "Latest Posts" link, not the "Home" link.  How about you guys?

I only do "recent discussions". That way I catch them all. But I didn't do it that way until @stike (sniffle) turned me on to it. This is my first (and only) forum so to a degree, I'm a noob on how all this stuff works.

Speaking from the newbie point of view, I find the people in this forum to be extremely helpful and maybe it was just luck, because I posted my first plea for help in the Feedback section which is for questions (?) about the forum not about BGE stuff, but by putting “asking for advice” in the subject, I think this helped me to get 2.2K views with 100 comments and all very sound advice on many things to get us started with our BGE.   Most recent discussions will get all topics being discussed currently including those revisited and commented on, but like Botch, I found the individual category posts make good reference material for how others setup for specific cooks when we are trying something new for the first time.  I am glad some have decided to post to the categories, IMO
