Tastes buds going-shutting down the Egg for a while

Just started a 7 week protocol of radiation and chemo for throat cancer yesterday. They say my taste buds will be leaving soon and probably won't be back for 4 to 6 months after treatment. So, I'm hurrying to cook some brisket and butts for tomorrow, while I can still taste them.

It'll be my last cook for a while, but I hope when I start again the pork and beef taste as good as they do now. If they end up tasting like road kill, I'll let you know. But, then again if road kill tastes like great pork and beef, I'll save some money and have an endless supply. 

)

Everyone keep posting the great pictures of your cooks. I'm going to show them to the doctors, so they can add them to their lists of meds for dry mouth and sore throats. I think they'll produce more saliva than anything else on the market. )

Hey, all the best with your treatment.

You can keep cooking on the egg, but instead of flavour think of texture, crunch, heat, etc.

Just 'cause you can't taste something it doesn't mean it can't be amazing..!

AND, think of all the cool party tricks you'll be able to do..
