XL Cedar BGE Table

Big thanks to DrivingHampster for the idea on this one. This is the table I came up with for my XL BGE. (I actually haven't purchased it yet, on the docket for this week.) Made out of all Cedar Boards except the posts which are wrapped in Cedar to give it a craftsman style kind of look.
The top portion of the table is made of 1" Cedar which I routered out for the edges and curves. I am a big fan of the Kreg pocket hole jig which I used throughout as well as Tightbond III wood glue. No skimping here. There are numerous structure supports throughout which should give this thing plenty of strength. Used caster wheels as well which makes moving it around a heck of a lot easier but I believe I will have to change out a couple for the locking type.
I haven't decided which color I am going to "stain" it yet nor hooks etc. for utensils. I have seen that Teak oil works extremely well on Cedar to maintain it's natural look. Any ideas or recommendations are appreciated.

I used Helmsman Spar Urethane. Five coats put on with a special painting sponge. Did a fair job.

I have drivinghamster's table thread bookmarked! Will be taking inspiration from both of you for my table.

I like the wagoneer in the pic better than the table...Columbia, SC --- LBGE 2011 -- MINI BGE 2013

Nice table. Love the Grand Wagoneer. It's a classic.

I like the table. Nice job, but I would add a little more support under the egg. Most tables have more support for a LBGE and you have an XL.

Thanks for the comments. The ol' Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a thing of beauty. The first pic is a little misleading. I actually added support every 7" where the egg will sit. The single support beam would be disaster waiting to happen. Think I am going to get an opportunity to get staining this thing today. Woo Hoo!

Project complete! Was going to fire her up last night but thought that Sunday would be a better day to start things out.

Looks good. I still haven't stained my xl cedar table :((Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

I got no skills in this area (or grammatically apparently). Would love to just be able to fire up the power equip and bust out a table. That thing would be so rickety and most likely an eye sore as well. Mad respect to anyone who can pull these projects out. Me? I'll be keeping the aftermarket table/furniture guys in business for the foreseeable future. Nice table!Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

Mine is in the process of being made, I dont want to post pictures till the completed project arrives. Also my garage looks like a bomb went in there since I have three projects going.

Navy what stain did you use? I'm in the process of staining my table and I like your color. -
I purchased my egg yesterday and the wife says must finish (start) table before it can be delivered. Love your table. About how much you have into it?
-
Thanks for the comments. Ended up having about $250 into the table. I was able to get the cedar at a pretty descent price from a local wood dealer. Now I did have all my tools already including the Kreg jig so that does help.As far as the stan goes I used the Cabot Mahogany Flame which I got at Lowes.
