  • Re: OT: Is ChefSteps Premium worth the price?

It's cheap and good.  A great reference tool.  And, like others have stated, it's worthy to support IMO.  I want those type organizations to succeed.  Happy to give them my money.
  • Re: You Know that Warmer Weather is Around the Corner When...

My brother in law gives me grief in the summer when I have one of these while grilling on a hot evening. Says it's for girls.

If I have to cash in my man card for a few summer shandys, that is a trade I will willingly make.
I don't know if I'd say it's for girls, but I found it to be pretty bad.  But, I generally despise flavored beers and this one is flavored to the extreme.

The notable exception is the Sculpin Grapefruit Sculpin IPA.  The grapefruit is subtle and in the background of this excellent IPA.  But, it's not a gulper for sure.
  • Re: Anyone Watching The Women's March?

I'd be interested in what the 42% of all women who voted for Trump think about this march.
Probably have busy, productive schedules and no time for such.
  • Re: Spinn coffee maker

I would need to know a lot more about the grinder - namely particle distribution size over different grind settings.  Here's an example:

    http://www.home-barista.com/grinders/baratza-grinders-particle-distribution-at-various-settings-t16011.html

In general, I'm very skeptical of these types of all-in-one machines, but, at least in the advertising, this one addresses a lot of important points with serious coffee drinkers.  I will almost guarantee this machine can't deliver serious espresso for a lot of different reasons.  Decent espresso grinders usually start around $700 and go way up from there.  And, the number of grinders that can appropriately do both espresso grinds and drip grinds well is darn near zero.  No way could this be so cheap if it actually delivered.

But, I am intrigued on the coffee making side and might look at it down the road once it's been around the block a bit.  Until then, my Technivorm delivers world class coffee when properly used and paired wth a great grinder.
  • Re: Yeti IPO

I would definitely go public now, if I were them!  Their market is in the process of being completely eroded by all the MUCH cheaper, but just as good competition.  Right now, the biggest thing they are selling is their great name. When that gets eaten away, the value will be a lot less.  Sell now and let public shareholders take that risk instead of the founders.

Caveat emptor to anyone wanting to buy the stock on the open market.
