  • Re: Anyone else here who paints?

Very nice.  My own efforts are not so creative.

  • Re: Dizzy Pig Help

Start with the sample pack.  My favorites are Dizzy Dust + Swam Venom for pork (ribs and shoulder), Raising the Steaks for beef,  Ragin' River for salmon, and Pineapple Head for fruit.  Simply Zensational, which they made for Big Green Egg, is a great additive to all kinds of Asian style marinades.
  • Re: The gift I been waiting on, finally arrived

Congratulations.  You can look forward to many fine meals.
  • Re: Lump Charcoal

I usually use Wicked Good these days.  Easy to get at Ace Hardware.  Used to use Royal Oak, but Wicked Good seems to have advantages that are worth the extra price:  (1) quicker to burn off VOC's, (2) less smoky, and (3) better distribution of lump size.
  • Re: Skin cancer...

Always get an annual check-up.  Have had several basal cancers on my forehead removed.  When I was growing up in rural Nebraska, no one had ever heard of sunscreen or sunglasses.  Always ended up getting burned every year, but never worried about it except for transitory discomfort.  Now I always wear a brimmed hat and use sunscreen.  Fortunately our kids and grandchildren are much better protected than we were.
