Welcome to the forum.
Rutland Gaskets are nice!Large, Medium, MiniMax, & 22, and 36" Blackstone
Grand Rapids MI -
You just opened up a bee hive, as well as your wallet. This place will cause you to spend money you didn't even know you have.
I'll go first - get a thermapen. If that's not enough $$ to spend, then also get a Kick-Ash Basket and a Flame Boss or Smobot.
A Yeti cooler is also nice to have.Large BGE

I'll say this: the thermopen made me a much better cook. The Kick Ash basket made it significantly easier to operate the Egg (quick up to temp time, easier to hold lower temps, don't have to worry about ash blockage). I'd get a KAB and a cheaper instant read pen like a javelin.Large BGE in Moore, OK -

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey. Above all, have fun.
Regarding the after market toys-hopefully you come from a background of "always cook to temperature" (except for big protein feel). So, either you have a thermo that can handle that or you need one at the top of the list. Thermoworks is the company that makes some great quick responding devices. If going down that route and don't want to spend the $$ for the thermapen then look at the thermopop. Close enough for me but a disclaimer-that product wasn't on the market when I ended up with the 'pen.
There are a few other companies that get solid reviews on here. FWIW-
Regarding the other hardware-play around with your BGE and sort out what you need to achieve your objectives. Many here have toys that effectively became a "one-off" down the road-me included.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -

Run me out in the cold rain and snow -
I have only been a member of this group of misfits and malcontents for a few months myself, however I find myself returning to this site daily... Some of the funniest sob's I have ever been around! AND they welcomed me with open arms- and verbal flatulance.... As a new BGE guy I have learned a whole bunch here--all the stuff mentioned above is spot on! I have purchased most of it- including the addition of a BGE min max.
first thing I did was get a "backup Rutland gasket".... Haven't needed it yet ...but I have it ready immediately if I need it
..as Eddie Haskell so eloquently pontificated on leave it to beaver..... "U Don't need it till u need it Sam"
Sarasota Fl. and Lake Toxaway N.C. (and Novembers on the island of Kauai) (and April in France.... Don't hate on me for that)

The least expensive investment you will make in the BGE lifestyle, was your initial purchase of your Egg.
Wallet genocide begins immediately thereafter.
It is worth it.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have been around the BGE for about 10 years or so now. I guess my initial question was, what NEW products are on the market that work with the egg.
