I agree. You wonder what happened to the other forum and its things like this that creates a disconnect. Keep politics on cnn, pretty simple.
-
Then don't read it.
-
Oh chill. Both threads will be buffaloed by mid morning tomorrow, and it will be business as usual. That said, most of the ones participating in both threads contribute most of the good cook threads here. Therefore, if not for them, you'd be left with...what? So chill, this is serious interweb bitness.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

Well I used to like posts from other users that got sick of this stuff and I miss their posts, pictures because of opinions not related to things besides cooking. All is good. Carry on.
-
We all have our opinions and feelings. Some of the posts here are offensive to me also. When I read where they are going and find them offensive or completely stupid I ignore them. Controversial topics and jesturing happen on all public forums. I hope you have not been personally attacked and insulted. Just roll with it and "let it go".

I apologize for my part in the shenanigans. Here, enjoy some grub sister. Some of SGH's finest.
Again, hope that you enjoy the grub and accept my apologies sister.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Yo. @SGH. If posting pictures of past cooks is enough to make up for being an overbearing drunken assh*le let me know and I'll give it a shot. Maybe i would be more popular around here[social media disclaimer: irony and sarcasm may be used in some or all of user's posts; emoticon usage is intended to indicate moderately jocular social interaction; the comments toward users, their usernames, and the real people (living or dead) that they refer to are not intended to be adversarial in nature; those replying to this user are entering into a tacit agreement that they are real-life or social-media acquaintances and/or have agreed to or tacitly agreed to perpetrate occasional good-natured ribbing between and among themselves and others]

I missed the 2nd offensive thead. Is there one besides @nolaegghead 's lump thread?
Btw, to the OP, a few threads get crazy. It keeps the majority of the assholery in one spot. Its better that way.
Also, most trashing each other know each other IRL.They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That's against their interests. - George Carlin -

SGH, among the other tasty items, that is some of the nicest looking fried shrimp I've ever seen.
To the OP, I may not see the same offending comments as you, but to me it seems confined to topical threads that invite it. So, if I don't like it, I just don't read those threads. I'd recommend the same, there is just too much good content on this forum to let the occasional post get you down.
In my view, this is one of the better forums I've been on. Everyone seems to express their opinions freely, respect others, and other than some joking around, 99% of the posts are on topic and respectable.

i thought this forum was a "safe place" where i could post and not be judged. where i can read and not get offended. i dont like this america.

It's official, the Buffalo has struck and the OP can feel safe perusing the forums again.
Although the OP does have a point. Usually the crazier threads are easy to identify, however when someone clicks on a thread called Lump Choice or how to light the egg and gets a face full of our finest weekend shenanigans I can understand some folks getting a bit upset
(it sure did keep the buffalo at bay though) -
I was on a political forum and damned if they weren't posting about BBQ.
FWIW many on here don't wander further than this forum (no FB, IG, Twitter, etc) so they post on here exclusively. To include but, not limited to....egging, flattop grilling, frying, family tragedies & family blessings, home upgrades, new toys, AC issues, political rants, bourbon, whiskey, beer, wine, dogs, cats....you get the idea. No Disrespect Intended but, when I don't like a channel on TV, radio or thread on here I simply tune out.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL -

And most participants and contributors, on this thread, are telling th OP what she should and shouldn't post or say.
Somewhat odd.
Nolaeghead pegged it earlier, exactly as it is, This place is becoming similar to "The Lord of the Flies."
Personally, I looked upon both threads as humor, nothing more. I found it to be a wonderful break and a bit of fun. I love these guys, they make me think and they really make me laugh.
To the OP, if you were offended, my apologies. No remarks by me and others were there to cause you harm. This is the best forum I have ever known with great folks everywhere, that would do anything for anyone."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Definitely fun while it lasted. I'm glad the buffalo laid low thru the weekend. I suspect a reincarnation will occur soon enough.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
