The Auto Moderation is driving me crazy!!
Tonight I can't even link to someone's user name in a post. Pretty much any hyperlink flags the moderator. And as you know those posts just go in to a black hole.
Has anyone figured out a way around this?
Can we bump our profiles up to a higher level so we don't get the stiff arm any time we want to use links in a post?

This is how I get around it. On first attempt just type 'stay tuned' and post it; go back to edit within the hour and attach as many links, url's, photos, etc. as you like!

Nola, I was trying to help OP get around the 'approval required' nonsense, not complaining about the 1-hr edit window.canuckland

Moderation? Are you effing kidding me? There aren't any mods if devastated is still floundering about. It's a glitch if anything. That would be a better explanation than mods.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

It's pretty annoying, in any case. The worst part is when it hits, you can't hit the back button to get to your reply that you typed! It's lost unless you are lucky and it was saved as a draft.
Thanks!

Out of the blue one my posts came back with a "awaiting approval" kind of message. It's only happened maybe 2 times. Anyone else have this?Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

@4Runner- the "awaiting approval" hit is a random event. And no your post will never clear the approval hurdle-relegated to the bone-yard of threads in the great ethernet. There are theories as to how something triggers the hit but I am not aware of any good rules. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

The other day, I wrote a long post with several links to other URLs. Did not copy it or save the draft. When I clicked Post Comment, I got the "awaiting approval" advisory... but amazingly, when I hit the back button, my words were still there!! At that point, I copied the post and tried again to submit. No luck and this time, the words were gone. Pasted them in and tried one more time. Tried 2-3 times actually. Still no luck.
Then, I remembered someone saying that if you click Save Draft and then reopen from My Drafts, you could submit without issue. Sure enough, it worked! I suggest copying your post to your clipboard before doing anything else though, just in case. Handy feature, don't you think? Gotta love Vanilla.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Good tip Carolina, thanks. Save to draft. Got it.
If anyone is an admin for this forum, they should really look at the spam filter settings and loosen them up. I don't think I saw Spam here before the upgrade. Even if you link to another eggheadforum post, it STILL flags your post for moderation!

Good to know. Would be nice if we actually had some active moderators to help at times.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html

So, for my next trick, I copied the post (just in case), saved the draft (just in case) AND THEN CLICKED PREVIEW! Once in Preview mode, I clicked Post Comment. This has worked for me twice this morning, both times when I had the audacity to include a link to another site.
I just love Vanilla's value added features!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

They might as well just remove the "url" link button if we're not allowed to use it.

Frankly, I don't think BGE cares much about this place. They are too busy negotiating deals with Sam's Club.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

@JohnInCarolina

GTFO, you can buy BGEs at Sam's Club now? I may have missed that thread...

You can but they are called Big Green Eggg so some of us are speculating they may not be authentic.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html
