What's Cookin' Today?

We found some pork butts on sale at Kroger for $1.79/lb.  Not a screaming deal, but we pulled the trigger on a couple.  What have you got cookin' today?

Same, my brother.  Have a five-pound Boston butt on now.  Pulling it off about four and taking it to my parents for dinner at five.  Some pecan chips and Dizzy Dust should give it some nice flavor.

BB's are on sale at Kroger too. Feeding people for a buck each is a pretty good deal on those butts. The .99/ # is ridiculous. Enjoy.

Brother Fred, I'm sad to report that I'm not frying up a big batch of anus and Sphincter today. However all is not lost. I'm whipping up some homemade chicken and dumplings, homemade dressing, and a big pan of cornbread. While it' certainly pails in comparison to anus, it should make a pretty decent turd when all is said and done.

No BGE cook so it may not qualify -but like a couple of weeks ago,  1 beef back ribs and 2 pork BB racks on the stick burner.  Just fired it up.

I'm considering firing one up as a demo. The 24 is a behemoth, so I was thinking the 18 would be the one. They have a hanging system for the two big boys. Have you ever used that or seen it in action? Gives a pit barrel type setup.

Yeah, I have the sausage/belly/fish racks for both 18 and 22.  Thought about using one of the hooks for this cook, not enough room for my liking.

I now cold smoke all bellies in the WSMs with the hooks, a cold smoke generator, and a hot plate if needed.

Haven't found a grinder on cl yet, but they will come in handy when I do.  It is the last big piece of food equipment I am missing.  Came close to a nice old hobart, but the guy turned it on with a knife in the worm, blew a hole in the cast collar.  Felt bad for the dude.

    Love this pic.

The 18 would be the perfect size to demo.

Thanks b, it was the last rack, sitting there all by its lonesome.  Must've been leftover from a sale earlier this week at Aldi.  Definitely worth 6 bones.

Nick is good people.  Actually, they're all good people at Berkwood.
Glad you could arrange a pick up.

Do you drop them down to reverse sear on the heated grill grates?
