Gonna probably take the plunge and buy a baby to raise for processing. In the end the entire cow will end up somewhere around $1.69-$2.30 per#LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Any road will take you there if you don't know where you're going.

I officially hate you."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

@Skiddymarker are you from the town? Just noticed you're an A's fan.

@BYS1981 - Nope, just a crazy Canuck who likes ball, became a fan in the days of Hunter, Blue, Fingers, Jackson etc... Once the Canadiens are out of Stanley Cup play, I cheer for the A’s.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Saw that same brisket at our Costco...same price. Almost walked out with one but my fridges are full. I think it would say "CAB" on it....
So y'all can hate New Orleans too!

They had a mix of CAB and Swift Prime. The Swift is the norm and the CAB briskets only show up about twice a year.Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ.... -
Oh, you're right. My bad!

Finally found my first whole packer at a cool 6.99 a pound! I've never heard of Sterling Silver...the butcher told me it's similar to a choice +. Have any of you guys used it before?

You might have cheap brisket in Texas, but you do have to claim this schmuck as one of your own!

My Costco here in central IL has the same one at about the same price. Last one I bought from there was under $4.00 for prime.Large and Small BGECentral, IL

I got a reason to hate Texas. They lured Shaka away from VCU. We couldn't afford him.

I found this amusing.... Is that what they call brisket in Delaware?Franklin, Tn

@Smokehouse33 - I haven't heard of Sterling Silver before but found some info on the interwebs. I think "choice plus" is a good description. I think you are in for a good briskey there.
http://www.sterlingsilvermeats.com/Premium-Beef/We accept only beef from the very top tier of Choice and Prime grades. Our standards are based on quality, not breed, so all Sterling Silver Premium Beef is highly marbled for rich flavor and aged to perfection.
Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
I read that he had to be physically restrained to keep him from drafting Johnny Football.

Well that's good news. I think last time I bought a prime packer from Costco it was $4.49/pound. Thought it was such a good deal I thew a couple in the freezer. Might have to buy a fresh one to cook.
