    Being that the vast majority of people on here will never be in the same state as Wess I doubt it is an actual fear for their physical safety. Rather, I think people see how he will berate a person relentlessly for no reason. He went bat feces on a woman a few months ago for imaginary reasons. Last night he accused someone of making a certain post. Then threatened (or at least implied a threat). If Lostin Utah was thrown out for the things he pulled, will death threats (PLURAL) be tolerated?

Are you so far gone as to think anyone on here has to do ANYTHING to make YOU look bad? I used to think that you were simply a first rate horse's a$$, but in the last few months I have come to believe that you are seriously damaged. Believe me when I say that I take no joy in telling you this. I actually have some pity for you, and loads of pity for people who have to deal with you in real life. If you have to reply with a "witty rejoinder," then do so, then please, give the computer a break and do a little reasessing.

    I have absorbed everyone’s position on this most sensitive of topics and I am confident and rather certain I now understand what is going on. We live in a fast-paced society, everything expressed in sound bites & terabytes (& someday perhaps a full on yottabyte) & such, we’re all so wrapped up in our daily lives, the job, the kids, the grandkids, the spill, the cap, the subsequent methane leak, plasma tv’s, horsepower, mortgages, who has what & which neighbor is vacationing in the Hamptons… have any of you stopped to consider that you mis-read the temp, then, a little while later after you re-emerged from your complicated & overflowing life (as described above) you ‘thought’ it was higher before & were befuddled by the ‘new’ & lower reading? Prophecy self-fulfilling & all, you have possibly and inadvertently added to the database of ‘fact’ that the temperature has dropped when indeed it didn’t?

    I agree with Wess. My Yugo works fine. I have had it for years. I can't count the times I had to give my neighbor a ride to the lexus dealer to get his car repaired.

    hmmm. ellipses, parentheticals, quote marks. I see what you are doing there.

    FWIW, I usually have the habit of two spaces at the beginning of a sentence (not one), and generally follow the whole "new idea, new paragraph" idea. And I rarely use ampersands.

    Maybe I'm paranoid, but i got a few PMs good-naturedly 'accusing' me of being massengill.

    Hell, I got some asking if I were tweev.

    Those in the know, know it's 'no'.

    With any luck BGE corporate will decide whether they want to be perceived as 'owning' the forum, and they'll make a call regarding anonymous posting. Till then, i guess it's open season. :laugh:

    Nice to see some real words and decent spelling, btw. Though maybe we need a 'BGE Forum manual of Style". I am never inclined to pluralize "TV" with an apostrophe, thinking the capitals are enough to set off the 's' which pluralizes it. The apostrophe always makes things seem possessive.

    I think you ought to sign on as a regular member and become the editor here.

    I never wanted to shell out the cash for a Chicago Manual of Style (though they've come down a lot since I last checked), but do you know how they handle plurals of single capital letters? I bristle at the odd "TV's" or "ATV's," but can't seem to look on "As" or "Is" as anything but mis-capitalized "as" and "is." Engineers usually just grunt and point, but I'm striving to break out of the stereotype.

While I offer practical solutions to real world problems, your typical strategy is to scoff at the question, or, go off on an unrelated tirade that simply ignores what has been said, as you have done here. I note that since I have published my theory on brisket temperatures, is stands, unassailed and unchallenged by the collective wisdom and experience of this great forum.
