. . . One Giant Step for My new Table.
Just had my granite delivered this evening for my table, and while it isn't as excitng as some of the Major League set ups posted here, it sure does look pretty!
Polishing off the last bit of dust
I just did a clean burn to see a little smoke come out of her . . .
Can't wait to get her dirty with some prep work!

did you get that thru Jim?
-
Very Nice. Bet that cost as much as the egg....
-
Looks very nice. I've been considering something similar for my setup. I'm just afraid the granite will get hot since mine sit in direct sun most of the afternoon. It is certainly easier to keep clean than wood.
You should post this in the Egg Table Forum they just added today for future reference for everyone. -
Awesome setup!
-
WOW beautiful! I put a wooden top on mine and I wish I'd put the granite!
What size casters did you put on? I just bought some 6 inch casters with brakes but haven't installed them yet.
Again BEAUTIFUL!

Man, that's a thing of beauty! One of the nicest tables I have seen......well done!!
-
Sweet, CIL, you're gonna love what you can do with that, i.e. just about anything.
-
Awesome table, my compliments.
I apologize for posting my reply here, but couldn't figure out how to reply on the new Egg Table forum. Notice that I modified the subject so that others can locate this valuable posting in future years.
I try to comply. No flames please. -
Sweet...did you make the table?
-
Looks absolutely great !

SWEET!!!

That's realllly purty! I like the bow ends.
Can you estimate cost? Labor you put into it?
But where's the bottle opener! :P :P :silly: -
I really like this table.. It is one of the nicest setups I have seen. I am in the process of getting supplies to build a table and I think I might want to wait and do something similar to this. If you don't mind me asking, how much was that piece of stone.

Beautiful pictures...mirror finish. What a wonderful environment to cook on and around. Look forward to seeing what will go on and come off that, "One Giant Step for My new Table"

very nice

That is beautiful! Nice work!
Now I notice the table has wheels- with all that weight it must be a bear to move, no? -
I WAS going to put it in the Egg Table Post, but wasn't sure it'd stand up to the "Big Boys"!
The table itself is a BGE brand cypress table. I must say it is Top Notch quality. I believe the coasters are about 4 inches (?) My handyman skills were limited to the 8 bolts it took to put it together, and the red cedar toned stain to stain it. (and just for the record my automotive skills stop at checking the air pressure in the tires).
The granite top came courtesy of Seth at River City Granite. You can buy his tops at Lindy's Market in Washington, IL (as well as the tables).
I'm a little afraid to get it dirty at this point . . . After doing a high temp clean last night to really make her shine I went to bed. When I left the house for work at 6:45 am this morning and rounded the corner of the patio to see the BGE resting comfortably in her new table, dew glistening off her dome in the early morning sunlight, I got all teary eyed, and had to gather myself before I could continue. I may just cook in the microwave and spend the rest of the week admiring her before I break it in this weekend. (sniff, sniff) -
That is killer! How much does the granite weigh roughly?
-
perddy chunk of stone you have there!

Very nice, Mark! What with this new top and your recent purchase of the BGE brand E-Z Up tent complete with side flaps you're becoming an egger to envy for sure!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Thanks Ron, We need to have a Fall cookout with all of us local eggers.
And the weight of the granite? I'd estimate 90 LBS? It's kind of hard to tell, it's an akward shape & you have to be real careful not to let is snap at the weak points, so carrying them is a bit tedious...
