For Sunday lunch I cooked a pizza @ 525 took the pizza off,damper close, green lid on top. Around 10 that night went out opened her up dumped in some coal & noticed something very strange, she was very white! I have done clean burns & she never turned white.

i assume you used the plate setter and it keeps the heat confined below it so the fire box is much hotter than the dome for long enough to burn off crud

You can take HD foil and make a ball - scrape the inside of the dome, it will remove the build up, then the on the next cook do a burn off like you did this time.. it will clean it nicelyKent Madison MS
