We have been waiting for our butcher shop at the end of our street to open for about a year. Well, today was the day, they finally turned on the open sign. We went in and they weren't quite fully stocked, but they had a few steaks to choose from. Oh ya, and they sale big bags of Royal Oak!
So, the package...
Marinating...
Trex'd and some amazing mac & cheese for a side(girlfriend had the other half)...
Savoring every last bite...
It was a great steak, we will be back to check out there fully stocked shelves and hope to help support them at least twice a week. They are directly across the street from our gym, so it is a nice way to reward ourselves for actually making it to the gym.

Hey Todd, we are doing well. How is Jeanie's leg? I finished school up last week, 4 classes left in the spring and I am done!! Thanks, the steak was one of the best I have had in some time.
-
Jeannie's foot is still bothering her, but it's getting better. Only 4 classes to go. Dude, that is so cool! I'm hoping to see you soon.

Hope that they survive. They have some serious guts opening for business in our current economic climate.

One of the cool things about where we go in FL is there are two nice butcher shops just a few miles from us. The one we like is owned by an older German couple and very nice. is smells so good when you go in there. all kinds of good stuff hanging from the ceiling. not having our freezer full of local beef if tough but this makes up for it

lucky you.....living in texas, one would think plenty of butcher shops around.......not. Twww.ceramicgrillstore.com ACGP, Inc.

Where in TX?

Is that the one on Hwy 92? East of 575? Went by there a week ago and it didn't look close to opening...
-
The meat looks great, but tell me about the mac & cheese. How did you do that? It looks great.

Good to hear that she is doing better. I am thinking of sending out an invite for a Jan or Feb gathering at our place up here in Woodstock for N GA BGEgers. I will keep you posted.

Hey Little Chef,
My girlfriends Dad owns a feed store up in Cumming and she ordered it out of one of his catalogs. It doesn't have any name on it, but her family has used these knives for years. I think it is one of my favorite knives in the house, even though it isn't a steak house. We use it for everything tho, I would love to get more myself. I will look into and keep you posted. -
I think I got the last case from our liquor shop a week or two ago. I have a couple beers left in a keg on the back porch, but I figured I would drink a tasty beer with such a good looking steak. Seriously one of the best meals I have had in some time.

Its called The Butchers Market, it is on hwy 92. It lies about half way between Sandy Plains and 575. It is a the intersection with hwy 92 and West Wylie Bridge.

Not much of a website right now, but it has the address on it. -

K's Baked Mac & Cheese
1 3/4 cup elbow Macaroni
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 1/2 cups milk
2 cups cheese
S&P to taste
Cayenne if preferred
1/4 cup Panko bread crumbs
Boil and drain pasta. In medium sauce pan, melt butter, add flour, salt and pepper. Cook medium heat for about a minute, then add milk. Bring Mixture to a boil, let boil one minute, should thicken. Remove from heat, add 1 cup of cheese, stir until melted. Pour over mac, we use a glass pie plate. Top with remaining cheese, bake @ 375 for 10 min. Remove top with Panko, return to oven until brown, probably another 5-10 minutes. -
That is it! Hey Bubba

Ya, that is the place. It was in the same phase of construction for months. They finally turned on the "OPEN" sign last night. They still had a lot of stocking to do, but I guess they needed to finally start making some money.

if you are near lake conroe, try brookshire brothers grocery stores for picnic lump. The 6.6 pound bags are perfect size for low and slow. Plus, BBrothers usually has it on sale at $2.99. It's good, long burning lump. Twww.ceramicgrillstore.com ACGP, Inc.
