Lost three azaleas , one was a zone 3 artic orange azalea. That shouldn’t be possible here but the wind here was so intense this winterGrateEggspectations said:Had heard really good things about one of the city’s most loved nurseries. Sucks. The guy at the nursery said the combo of drought over summer plus a pretty harsh winter was the culprit. Just strange, because in many instances, some died while their neighbours were fine.fishlessman said:

I think your weather spread to Maine. Last summer was incredibly dry and the sub zero winds all winter. The weather is still cold and windy. Did my first burn pile two weeks ago and it’s been windy since. I have more than 4cords of scrap wood to burn outside plus all the bark from the trees cut down last summer before I can reseed the lawn

I bought some hardware, I’m going to take a crack at making a telecaster with wood we milled from our bush😳

What a cool project. Please consider including in a standalone thread, if you have the time and energy. Would love to see it in progress. (Now I’m just pushing my luck! 😁)GlennM said:I bought some hardware, I’m going to take a crack at making a telecaster with wood we milled from our bush😳

Great skill set on display right there. Very nice @GlennM.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Possibly a new car Tuesday. If they can accept that being on the car lot six months warrants a price cut.

I've been seeing blurbs here and there on the 'net that vehicles are just not moving anymore; saw that year-old VW Buz (or whatever, their electric bus) were being cleared out for around $42K, literally half-price. My local VW/Audi dealer didn't have any prices on their website (and I should've made a visit today, as they aren't open on Sundays, I hate having a salesman humping my leg when I'm "just looking"...).Gulfcoastguy said:Possibly a new car Tuesday. Let us know tomorrow, or Tuesday, whatcha got!

Yes I am moving away from VW, their local service department sucks Shrek’s bath water through a paper straw. Going back Japanese, cheaper and more reliable.Botch said:

Well, I finally finished this project. It turned out better than I expected, but I would do a lot of things different next time

Beautiful Job!
How was the pick guard made? The grain pattern matches the body perfectly, which makes me think you re-sawed a veneer off the face of the body, then re-attached after finishing?"There is a crack, a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." - Leonard Cohen

bought a Egg Genius and am now second guessing myself. Software from the app store? And I can't get a version for my iMac since the new ones use an Apple 'M' series chip, no longer Intel. So everything I own is not junk. Software for my 27", with lots of extras (incl 32gig of memory) is now Unobtanium.....
I supposed I could put it on my phone?
For GULFCOAST GUY? Skip Toyota and migrate to Mazda. The CX-90 is too much, but for smaller families or couples? The '26 CX-5 is the sweet spot. And slightly changed for the new year. I love my '23 and it is fine. Got over 30mpg on a 1300 mile trip to Utah / Zion and no problems. Turbo not offered on new model.
ALL CX-5 are AWD which is a highly regarded system. Niece had a '20 which has 75k, my old Mazda 6 Sedan is on its 3rd owner (all in family) and is over 90k. Niece NOW has the CX-90, a big vehicle for her growning brood, having a 6cyl hybrid system.

@Begger, I am moving from one electric vehicle to another. Again only if the money is right. Just me and a dog so excess size on a vehicle just means more money. The vehicle before the current one was a Mazda but it was to small inside compared to the outside if that makes sense. Mazda also has no electric vehicles or reasonable priced hybrids.

I cut a pc of walnut, resawed it and glued it up. Sanded it down to very thin and bobs your uncle

Some really nice detail on that - the arm rest bevel, the binding, etc. Keep us posted on the others!GlennM said:Well, I finally finished this project. It turned out better than I expected, but I would do a lot of things different next time

I’m considering having it professionally ceramic coated. The love bugs over the interstates are unbelievable twice a year. Fortunately we are in between swarms now. I was reluctant to get a white vehicle again but I had noticed this one was on the lot for 5 months so negotiation time.Ozzie_Isaac said:

I am a fan of clear paint protection film over front quarter of car. Way to clean and stops rock chips too.Gulfcoastguy said:

ideally you would clay the car down, put the ppf were it needs to be, then ceramic coat it. should up the costs a bit
wish i had the ppf on the back bumper under the swing gate, would keep the scratches down from the dogs if i were to put them back there fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -

The design of these has vastly improved since they first came out. That's a head-turner.Gulfcoastguy said:
