Apparently cataract surgery when they can schedule it.

That surgery was a game changer for me in the positive vein. You will likely be given a few lens options by your ophthalmologist. Medicare covers the basic package. Upgrades are on you.Gulfcoastguy said:Apparently cataract surgery when they can schedule it.
Good luck. I had no issues with driving about 4 hours after the surgery despite the CYA medical restrictions. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Wasn’t a whole lot more than what we were already paying for cable internet (our provider was Spectrum). There is a crazy difference in speed.alaskanassasin said:How much is that a month? @JohnInCarolina"I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

We have AT&T fiber. The jump from normal cable to fiber is pretty amazing. I can only think Google is way faster than AT&T.Midland, TX XLBGE

I'll be honest, my actual surfing speed didn't seem to change much at all. I went from a local dish service to fiber (Connext) and the "Internet Speed Test" showed I went from 27 MHz to 166 MHz (download), but some websites still just take their time loading (and even at 27 MHz, I never had any buffering issues, even when using EweTube TV and surfing at the same time.)GrateEggspectations said:

My two main benefits were a) going from $110/mo to $35/mo (just like the First-World countries!) and b) my printer never falls offline since upgrading my ~10-yr old router anymore (I used to have to cycle power every 4 or 5th print job).

You mean Mbps (megabits per second) and not MHz (megahertz), right?Botch said:

I just tested our new network over the wifi in our house and we're seeing close to 500 Mbps for both download and upload."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Diesel 5.19!
I might buy the dip! Or I might hold out and see if it keeps dropping.
I feel like every time I need to fill the diesel tank at work, diesel is abnormally high.Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

Those are some solid numbers you guys are posting, our Starlink averages about 150-200mbps, $120 a month but it is so nice to have reliable internet in the country... finally. They are running fiber optic on what seems like every rural road in Ohio so maybe we will have more options in the future, but we are very pleased with Starlink.South of Columbus, Ohio.

Ditched the cable company years ago and got fiber immediately when it was available. Ditched their tv service recently and am saving close to $100 per month with YouTube TV.

My boys and some friends and I were trial riding in the upper peninsula of Michigan. At an intersection I took a picture of this sign. On the other side of the intersection, a company was burying fiber internet.alaskanassasin said:Those are some solid numbers you guys are posting, our Starlink averages about 150-200mbps, $120 a month but it is so nice to have reliable internet in the country... finally. They are running fiber optic on what seems like every rural road in Ohio so maybe we will have more options in the future, but we are very pleased with Starlink.

The main limitation with FTTH is the NIC or wireless network set up in the home. Some of the cheaper televisions only have NIC's which will negotiate up to 100 MBps and the wireless capabilities negotiate up to a Gig, meaning unplug the cable. Apple products don't seem to skimp on their network speed capabilities, so there's that. Also, if you are using a mesh network, some of those "repeaters" can really step your speed down..Have:

Starlink has some new packages out. We have the residential 100 package at the camp which consistently gets 100mbps when tested, the cost is $55 CDN for the first 6 months, then $70 CDN after. The 200mbps package is $110 CDN or $80 US on their website. Might be worth a check to see if you can get on another package, unless you are using their mini travel too? then $120 makes sense. I think Amazon will be rolling out their service soon, so I bet that's why these cheaper packages came out ahead of that.alaskanassasin said:Those are some solid numbers you guys are posting, our Starlink averages about 150-200mbps, $120 a month but it is so nice to have reliable internet in the country... finally. They are running fiber optic on what seems like every rural road in Ohio so maybe we will have more options in the future, but we are very pleased with Starlink. -
