@Gulfcoastguy - Sad to read about your dad. Best wishes to him and to you.And by the looks of that sausage, seems your BIL is a quick learner.LBGE, LBGE-PTR, 22" Weber, Coleman 413GGreat Plains, USA

That is rough man, sorry to hear it. No real words beside it’s the way we all must go in the end - doesn’t make it easier.Gulfcoastguy said:The rest of the news isn’t as good as. My 95 year old father is back in the ER with congestive heart failure. When he gave his dog away he seems to have given up.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

They are going to release him with oxygen . How we are going to handle the home situation is an entirely different bag of snakes.

How we are going to handle the home situation is an entirely different bag of snakes.when my grandmother was in her 90's we found a live-in caregiver that worked for room and board thru the church that my grandmother went too. worked pretty well til alzheimers really kicked in. she hated it. thought we were going to have problems with my grandfather putting him in an elderly ward. he went from an angry guy for most of his life to a perfect gentleman getting up early putting a suit on with bow tie daily, his permanent scowl turned into a smile.one went from nice to angry. the other went from angry jerk to perfect gentleman. not sure where your dad is right now but the decision making is toughfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I’m sorry that is hard on so many levels. I’m sorry for all involved.alaskanassasin said:A friend of our family's a 87yo legend was just randomly murdered by his daughter’s ex husband.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Well just punching dislike doesn’t sound right. I hope the ex husband has to spend the next 40 years in a not nice prison. Boogieing down electric avenue is to nice for people like him.alaskanassasin said:A friend of our family's a 87yo legend was just randomly murdered by his daughter’s ex husband. -
Still in the hospital.

Glad the old man has you there to help. Will be thinking about you all.Gulfcoastguy said:Still in the hospital.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

About to move to a regular room shortly and out of the ER.

Good to hear! That is a positive change.Gulfcoastguy said:About to move to a regular room shortly and out of the ER.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I think he punched his own ticket @Gulfcoastguy, police said they found him dead in the woods. I just wish he would have started with that.South of Columbus, Ohio.

Me too, why people kill others before themselves is seriously frustrating. Skip to the end and let others live in peace.alaskanassasin said:I think he punched his own ticket @Gulfcoastguy, police said they found him dead in the woods. Upper-seventies here; I’ll be firing up the lawn mower tomorrow (keep up with the neighbors), something I’ve never done in March, even living in Albuquerque.Battleborn said:This is BS. Even for Vegas."The sooner you fall behind, the more time you'll have to catch up." - SW

It was around mid seventies when I was a student there. They were literally plastic punched cards, no magnetic strip, probably easy to clone 😂 Never heard of belt driven cash machine.CPFC1905 said:
Wow, they are some age. I never had one of those, but my family always banked with Nat West.Canugghead said:@CPFC1905 Found these in my collection of junk, tells you how ancient I am
Are you old enough to remember them?
My Dad was suspicious of any modern innovation and coincidentally remained highly sceptical of credit cards.
I do remember the very early cash machines that were belt driven and probably accessible with a bent spoon.
Speaking of punched cards, class mates from the Far East told us story of reusing patched up punched cards because they had to pay for them

A condensed offering this weekend, the League Cup Final accounts for Arsenal and Man City and so Palace and Wolves acne enjoy a run ashore before the international break next weekend. Pick of the crop will be on Sunday when Spurs and Forest might push the other to the very brink.
Friday
Bournemouth vs Man Utd, five draws from the last 6 would suggest the likelihood of the Cherries taking all three points is low. Utd can pull clear in 3rd place with a victory and I suspect that’s where we’ll end up. 0-1
Saturday
Brighton vs Liverpool, the filthies are safe and the Reds can’t consolidate their form to really threaten the top 4. All three results on the table but the visitors played mid-week, albeit a big win - and that could hamper their energy levels. 1-1
Fulham vs Burnley, the Cottagers have nothing to play for even with 8 games left. And to be frank, neither do the Clarets as they are all but sunk. A good case for this being played on Zoom. 0-0
Everton vs Chelsea, still not great playing at home but the Toffees are flirting with Euro qualification and Chelseas are what we politely call unpredictable. Another match where all three outcomes are foreseeable. I’ll continue with the mid-week fatigue theme and go for 1-0.
Leeds vs Brentford, the hosts are on the periphery of the mire and in the awkward position of needing other results to go their way. Annoyingly for them the Bees are on the Euro-hunt with one defeat in the last six on their side too. Big match and an easy goal either way vital for whoever comes out on top. 0-1
Sunday
Newcastle vs Sunderland , the Tyne / Wear derby. Catastrophic mid-week defeat, shipping seven, midweek for the Toon while the Maccems are far from the early season force they were, slipping to 13th with four points from the last 18 available. The fan intensity should bring sufficient energy to make a game of things. 2-1
Spurs vs Forest, both played mid-week and both won, set against a back-drop of direct league form. Could the late, late equaliser for Spurs at Liverpool be the turning point, or the upswing on a brief new-manager bounce? Forest have been consistently rubbish this season and richly deserve to be amongst the relegation battle. Whoever loses will be staring down the barrel after this. Everything says 0-0 but that helps no-one.
Villa vs West Ham, a good time for the Hammers to head tot he wooden city and confront an unreliable Villa - who have amassed one point from the last four matches - despite remaining 4th in the league. The hosts had a Euro match in the week that will bring a toll. An away wain could be huge - taking the Hammers to a possible 16th place. 1-2 - just for fun.
Arsenal v Man City - League Cup, some say this the proxy PL title face-off. Some say it matters not a jot as the Gunners have that well under control. Good chance for mind games between the managers who are best of frenemies. 1-0 and Eze scores in the 16th like he did for Palace against City last May.

Thanks for that. However, it's March Madness time over here on this side of the pond so I will likely not pay as much attention to proper football as I usually do.CPFC1905 said:A condensed offering this weekend, the League Cup Final accounts for Arsenal and Man City and so Palace and Wolves acne enjoy a run ashore before the international break next weekend.
