    It’s almost like there should be some accountability or dispute system.  Maybe like require a judges signature on arrest warrants and maybe allow detainees to see a lawyer or something?  I’m sure there is a way to stop/limit this?  Maybe even, just spit balling here, but require some very base level training of ICE agents?  Or, this is crazy, maybe don’t hire people who want to carry a gun but didn’t qualify for military, real federal law enforcement, local law enforcement, mall security, or even Walmart greeter?

    Party of Freedom and Rights 🤣🤣🤣

    TL/DR: Trump wants to allow federal agents to search your home without a warrant signed by a judge.  The agent can literally sit outside and sign the administrative warrant themselves.

    Trump’s administration also says having lawful gun in public is justification for government to shoot you.

    How does that square with republicans?  Are those who support Trump okay with giving up 2nd and 4th Ammendment?

    Saddest part, they have lost so much trust and credibility that who knows if their “cartel incursion” story is real or a cover.  Probably shoring up and protecting their own drug importation and money laundering.

    Also, Epstein revelations are getting very very damning and Greenland seems off the table, so Mexico is a good distraction.

    I feel safer already!! We successfully shot down a party balloon.

    Chaos caused FAA to issue a 10 day no fly order for 10 miles around El Paso (they lifted this order hours later)- this was an extreme order that grounded medical and police aircraft also.

    Imagine if the cartel released like 10 or 15 balloons at once?

    It is beautiful outside.  You are right, also I am fortunate to be able to go for a walk/hike and not be hassled by ICE or DHS, even though I regularly hike on a trail used by immigrants.  They are to busy focusing on blue states and brown people.

    in all seriousness— we have a lot of talented and productive people here and i hope the venting helps. long term however venting is not going to be productive or healthy. so i encourage people who are struggling with pressures out of their control to find organizations and activities where the task at hand is to create a measurable impact.  it is the way to go.

    This is sentiment I agree with.  My partner and I had a discussion about 8 months ago while watching “Eddington” …. I was perplexed as to why the local kids were protesting in the streets of a small backwoods nothing town.  She explained you protest where you are and in your community if you truly believe in change.  Not everyone can travel to large cities, large protests, etc.  I couldn’t wrap my head around it, it seemed like a wasted effort.

    Fast forward to today, and I get it.  When there are things that are so outrageous happening and so unjust that is beggars belief - you do what you can where you are.

    Aside from my IRL activities, I am lucky to be a part of the Egghead/BBQ world and community.  I started this thread not as venting (occasionally I do) but as a way to inform people what is going on.  Some may agree with President Donald J. Trump and others, like myself may not.  I don’t actually expect to change any minds here, but I want people to be informed on what they are supporting.  This is a thread to do that, because it is “where I am at” and I see myself as a part of this community.

    I am fortunate to enough to be very busy IRL, but I still like to pop in and participate here.

    I see you all as my friends and welcome discussion and counterpoints.

    ok glad to hear at least two posters are ok and this thread in “on topic” isn’t the peak of their political influence.  

    noone is really sharing any politics related evidence of meaningful progress, effort or merit to the contrary but we can call it the tip of the iceberg. all good stuff that is elsewhere or under water. 

    it also must be new and after 24 kind of stuff.  just hoping we don’t have president vance in 28 and a daily flood of couch and eyeliner jokes in the egg forum top 5.  do they sell futures in that?

    If by chance we do get a President Vance, of course there will be couch jokes, and hopefully they’ll even make a few people laugh.  After the end of the current Presidency, let’s just hope laughing at politicians is still allowed, comrade.

    double i think you missed the point. noone is sharing “hey i volunteered with ______ and we did _______” or “at a workshop on _________ i learned that ________ is effective at _______ so we did ________”

    it seems like maybe there was some of that in the off topic threads. i have applauded caps dedication there about regularly informing people. 

    so if this thread is gonna stay high up in the main area with the meme and link sharing activity regardless— which btw makes me wonder if most of the posters are auditioning for “idiocracy 2:  the prequel”—-it seems also fine to toss in a little counterbalance occasionally to wish well for the people who either are or aren’t posting.
