How To Clean Ash From New BGE Chiminea

The new BGE Chiminea has lava rocks which make cleaning out the ash tricky. Any suggestions on the best way to do it?

I already use a shop vac to clean out my eggs but the rocks in the chiminea were throwing me off. This solves the problem. Well done!

I've never looked into buying a chiminea. Why are there rocks in it?

the main thing to remember with shop vacs is “how long after last fire is safe to vacuum”

typically it’s been a while and it’s ok to vac immediately before use.

in periods of under 48 hours since last burn, i highly recommend shovel and metal ash bucket instead of shop vac.
