The new BGE Chiminea has lava rocks which make cleaning out the ash tricky. Any suggestions on the best way to do it?

Brilliant! Thanks!
I already use a shop vac to clean out my eggs but the rocks in the chiminea were throwing me off. This solves the problem. Well done! Two Large Eggs, 6 gal Cajun Fryer, and a MiniMax in Charlotte, NC - My New Table

I've never looked into buying a chiminea. Why are there rocks in it?

the main thing to remember with shop vacs is “how long after last fire is safe to vacuum”
typically it’s been a while and it’s ok to vac immediately before use.
in periods of under 48 hours since last burn, i highly recommend shovel and metal ash bucket instead of shop vac. -
