Well I was engaged in a standoff with a utility boring company. They said they were going to bore through my property. I said no that they didn’t have a valid utility easement and that I had not granted them one. I left for 30 minutes to go to the pharmacy. I came back to find 30 feet of conduit and fiber optic sticking up in my yard. I told them to get their—— out of my yard. They didn’t have the legal right to bore there and they had just ruptured the city water across the street. I made sure that I didn’t have any weapons on my person and called the police. To cut 2 hours out of my story they eventually had to admit that I was correct and that the existing North/south easement was 2 doors further down the street. Thus they took their
—— and left. Btw the policeman just wanted me to calm down and let them trespass on my property.

It is unfortunate, but seems to be pretty common - many people just want to do what is easiest for them, not what is correct. This behavior is very unfortunate when displayed by those in authority or leadership positions.

Glad you got it resolved.  They should be glad you didn’t let them do it, then just cut both ends at your property line.

The city fixed the cities waterlines. This is the third time cable companies have hit the sewer or waterline in front of my house while boring for the conduits. Hopefully the city back charges the boring company.

Part II on the fiber optic felons. While I was gone yesterdayI started getting texts about mid morning that my internet outage would be fixed by so and so time. It turns out that the clowns had bored through AT&Ts fiber optic which supplies my internet and cable TV. AT&T finally got it fixed 4 in the morning. AT&T will have to deduct those hours from everybody's monthly bill in the neighborhood, pay the crew overtime, pay for several hundred feet of fiber and at least 2 splices, and apologize to my doodle for violating his territory (he laid facing the window and growling all night long). I hope that they sue the pants off of Sparklight and that the city does also.

my neighbor has right of way thru my back yard and put in the electric under ground thru it. busted thru my fiber optics. some kind of mechanical splice with what looked like vaseline or electrical grease is now buried in my yard. i see that not working too long with all the plow and salt equipment the town sends down my driveway for snow removal. did the neighbor ask to dig up my yard, no. did the electric company hired crew use dig safe, no. was there a marker 5 feet from the right of way for my fiber optic cable, yes. first day of vacation last spring......

unsubscribing, just because I bought a random gift from your website does not mean you can email me 3 times a day for the rest of my life! Also, I never put my phone number in the shipping form, if it insists I just make one up.  Outside of motor freight I have never had a shipper call my phone so why the heck do they need my number.
