Biden had 4 years to release the files. He or his handlers had plenty of time to decide that it wouldn’t benefit them.

    Wednesday TRUMP ADMINISTRATION LITIGATION

"A federal judge yesterday ruled that a nationwide class of individuals who were living in the United States when they were detained by immigration authorities are legally entitled to a hearing to determine whether they can be released on bond while their deportation cases proceed. The judge ruled last week that the Trump administration’s policy adopted in July of denying bond hearings to migrants during domestic enforcement operations was illegal for specific individuals. Yesterday’s decision extended her ruling nationwide. Daniel Wiessner reports for Reuters

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) yesterday filed a lawsuit against Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency Bill Pulte, claiming that Pulte breached federal privacy laws by repeatedly disclosing documents intended to accuse prominent Democrats of mortgage fraud. Zach Montague reports for the New York Times

A coalition of 20 states, led by New York Attorney General Letitia James, yesterday filed a lawsuit against the Department of Housing and Urban Development, seeking a court order blocking the “administration’s cuts and illegal new conditions” on the HUD’s Continuum of Care program funding. “These funds help keep tens of thousands of people from sleeping on the streets every night. I will not allow this administration to cut off these funds and put vital housing and support services at risk,” James said yesterday. Katherine Hapgood reports for POLITICO.

An education coalition yesterday filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, arguing that the government’s latest attempt to dismantle the Education Department was unlawful. The lawsuit challenges the changes announced by Education Secretary Linda McMahon, which offload the management of some of the department’s functions to other federal agencies. Michael C. Bender reports for the New York Times. "

    Wednesday TRUMP ADMINISTRATION LITIGATION

A federal judge yesterday ordered federal immigration officers to stop arresting suspected undocumented migrants in Washington without a warrant unless they could show a flight risk. The judge said that federal law only allows warrantless arrests when officers have probable cause that the person is in the country illegally and is likely to escape before a warrant can be obtained. Hassan Ali Kanu and Kyle Cheney report for POLITICO

The plaintiffs in a lawsuit challenging the tactics of federal immigration agents in the Chicago area withdrew the suit on Tuesday, saying that since the presence of Border Patrol in the city has sharply diminished, there was no need to continue in court. Julie Bosman reports for the New York Times."

    Thursday TRUMP ADMINISTRATION LITIGATION

The New York Times today filed a lawsuit against the Pentagon, arguing that the Defense Department infringed on the constitutional rights of its journalists by imposing a new set of restrictions on reporting about the military. The Times is asking the court to issue an order stopping the Pentagon from enforcing the press policy, along with a declaration that the provisions relating to the exercise of First Amendment rights are unlawful. Erik Wemple reports for the New York Times.

Four former federal employees yesterday filed a lawsuit on behalf of a proposed call of similarly-suited federal workers, alleging that the Trump administration carried out an unlawful, targeted purge of career civil servants based on perceived political affiliation, race or gender, or advocacy for protected groups. Daniel Wiessner reports for Reuters."

"A federal appeals court yesterday issued an administrative stay, blocking a lower court order that said the National Guard’s presence in Washington was unlawful and that the troops should be removed by Dec. 11. The order said that the decision was designed to give the court enough time to consider the issue, and “should not be construed in any way as a ruling on the merits” of the case.  Zach Montague reports for the New York Times."

    Monday TRUMP ADMINISTRATION LITIGATION

The Supreme Court said on Friday that it will hear arguments on the Trump administration’s executive order eliminating birthright citizenship.
Justin Jouvenal reports for the Washington Post.

A federal judge ruled on Friday that the Trump administration exceeded its authority in holding migrants designated for deportation at the U.S. Navy base at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. The judge rejected the administration’s request to dismiss a class-action challenge brought by the American Civil Liberties Union. The judge also denied class certification of the case with respect to the named Plaintiffs’ habeas corpus claim, while certifying a class of “all immigration detainees originally apprehended and detained in the United States who have been ordered removed…and who are, or will be, held at the Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.” Carol Rosenberg reports for the New York Times."

    Tuesday TRUMP ADMINISTRATION LITIGATION

"The Supreme Court yesterday appeared likely to allow Trump to remove a Democratic member of the Federal Trade Commission purely for policy reasons. The court’s conservative majority seemed ready to overturn or limit a landmark decision from 1935, which said Congress could constrain the president’s authority to remove some executive branch officials. Devin Dwyer reports for ABC News

A federal judge yesterday vacated Trump’s Jan. 20 executive order blocking wind energy projects, saying the effort to halt virtually all leasing of windfarms on federal lands and waters was “arbitrary and capricious” and violates U.S. law. AP News reports.

A federal judge yesterday ordered top Justice Department attorney Drew Ensign to testify on Dec 16. about the decision to deport more than a hundred men to El Salvador under the Alien Enemies Act earlier this year. The judge also ordered testimony on Dec. 15 from Erez Reuveni, a former DOJ attorney who alleged the Trump administration sought to circumvent court orders. Peter Charalambous, Laura Romeo, and Ely Brown report for ABC News.

The creators of ICEBlock, an app on which users can report sightings of ICE agents, filed a lawsuit yesterday against the Trump administration, alleging that it illegally threatened to prosecute the app’s creators and pressured Apple to remove the app from its App Store. Andrew Pantazi reports for Axios

12 anonymous former FBI agents yesterday filed a lawsuit against the FBI and the Justice Department, alleging they were demoted or fired in retaliation for kneeling during a 2020 protest as a de-escalation tactic, conduct that the administration has characterized as participating in the demonstration. Devlin Barrett reports for the New York Times. "

    Thursday TRUMP ADMINISTRATION LITIGATION

"A federal judge yesterday ordered the Trump administration to immediately end its deployment of California National Guard troops in Los Angeles, ruling that the federal government had illegally kept them in the city six months after protests erupted over immigration raids. The judge directed the federal government to return control of the troops to Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), but stayed the order until Monday. The Trump administration is expected to appeal. Lauren Rosenhall reports for the New York Times.

A federal judge yesterday issued a temporary injunction that blocked the Trump administration from enforcing a new regulation that criminalizes “creating a loud or unusual noise” near the ICE detention facility in Oregon. Chris Cameron reports for the New York Times."

    Friday TRUMP ADMINISTRATION LITIGATION

"A federal judge yesterday ruled that the Trump administration unlawfully terminated a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant program designed to protect states and communities against natural disasters before they occur. The judge sided with 20 states in finding the administration lacked authority to end the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program and use money Congress approved to support it for other purposes. Nate Raymond reports for Reuters."

    Monday TRUMP ADMINISTRATION LITIGATION

A federal appeals court on Friday upheld a district court decision from earlier in the week ordering the Trump administration to remove California National Guard troops from Los Angeles by Monday. However, the appellate panel temporarily blocked the part of the lower court’s order that would return control of the troops to Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA). Shawn Hubler reports for the New York Times.

A federal appeals court on Friday temporarily paused a contempt investigation into whether the Trump administration willfully violated a judge’s order to stop the deportation flights of over 100 Venezuelan immigrants to El Salvador earlier this year. The Justice Department’s emergency petition on Friday alleged that Judge James Boasberg “is engaged in a pattern of retaliation and harassment, and has developed too strong a bias to preside over this matter impartially.” Alan Feuer reports for the New York Times.

20 states on Friday filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over its policy to increase fees on new H1-B visas to $100,000, arguing that the increase is illegal because it exceeds what Congress has authorized and undermines its intent in establishing the program. Christine Mui reports for POLITICO."

A federal appeals court yesterday ruled that National Guard troops stationed in Washington, D.C., since August could remain while the court considered the legality of the deployment. The three-judge panel wrote, “Because the District of Columbia is a federal district created by Congress, rather than a constitutionally sovereign entity like the 50 states, the defendants appear on this early record likely to prevail on the merits of their argument.” Zack Montague reports for the New York Times

A federal judge yesterday ruled that ICE cannot enforce newly adopted policies that require lawmakers to provide seven days notice before visiting detention facilities and entirely barring congressional visits to field offices being used to detain immigrants. Josh Gerstein and Kyle Cheney report for POLITICO."

A federal judge on Wednesday issued a preliminary injunction, blocking the Trump administration from carrying out reductions in force at the State Department, Department of Education, General Services Administration, and Small Business Administration through Jan. 30, 2026.The order also requires the Trump administration to reverse hundreds of layoffs that were implemented at these agencies during the government shutdown earlier this year. April Rubin reports for Axios.

If true I must admit that is a bad choice. Battleships require thousands of personnel and can only be in one location at a time. In my opinion we need much larger quantities of frigates and destroyers. Probably nuclear attack submarines also but I will let out under seas sailers weigh in .

Here's a link to the article about the narcissistic move by CHEETO aka Agent Orange:

Trump announces new class of ‘Golden Fleet’ Navy battleships

Btw the class name is...you guessed it, (How much Richard can you...?)

"The first ship in the so-called Trump-class will be the USS Defiant, which will carry a nuclear-armed, sea-launched cruise missile, according to Phelan.

The Navy secretary said the Defiant will be the “largest, deadliest and most versatile and best looking warship anywhere on the world’s oceans.” "

Just pi$$ing money away-our maritime industrial base is underwater and can't keep up with current demand (although the trend is slowly upward in terms of recovery).  Now this narcissistic play.  There's a good reason we haven't commissioned a battleship since 1944-today's (and certainly tomorrow's ) weapons systems have passed them by.
Nothing more than a prize target for any number of deliverables.
Always remember, "There are only two ships in any navy, submarines and targets."
Edit-even more back of the envelope concept-with the power demand and anticipated growth for that it's conventionally powered.  The amount of juice begs nuclear power.  Good luck with keeping pace with those nuke powered carriers.
BTW-turns out reactor design and delivery is ahead of the current ship building demand.  So it's gotta be a cost cutting move that will bite us (if we are stupid enough to even weld a plate of steel).
    Off soap-box.

    Off soap-box.
My early career was in Acquisition, for the USAF, but one of my first major programs was Joint with the USN, the Airborne Self-Protection Jammer, or ASPJ; the acquisition cycles were pretty much the same for both Services back then, time-wise.
It takes a couple years just to develop the RFP, or Request for Proposal, where the military decides on a System need for its current worldwide challenges.  This is then published to the contractors, who develop a "system concept", present it to the military, with a laughable schedule and estimated cost; this can take another year or two.  For smaller systems, up to a full fighter jet, tanker, or smaller ship, contracts are awarded to two or three contractors to come up with an operational system, which are then tested head-to-head by that military service, and a Production contract awarded to the winner.  The most recent example I can think of is the Lockheed F-22 vs the Northrop/McDonnell-Douglas YF-23; I doubt that even the US economy back then could have two competing battleship designs (and I need to look up if we did it for the Littoral Combat ship).  So, yeah, a "drumph-class" battleship will not happen.

Same situation for a replacement Air Force One.  A newer-model Boeing 747 has been under modification for years, it's way behind schedule, then the narcissistic Toddler gets an illegal gift of a 747 from Qatar, that (apparently) is already deco'd with lots of gold paint.  Work on the newer AF-1 ceases and mods are started on the Qatari bug-nest, and there's no way it'll be completed before drumph's term/death/assassination/removal, whatever happens first.

Tonight PBS Newshour had a great story on this "battleship", but I'm not currently able to open it on their website (this is common), I'll repost tomorrow.  "Belle of the Ranch" also posted a good talk on EweTube about the absurdity of this idea today.
