It’s not like America didn’t see this one coming… and still voted for it.

One of my biggest regrets - I was voting for incompetence, gridlock, and tax cuts. Assumed he was so batshit crazy that pretty much nothing would happen because there were other adults in the room.DoubleEgger said:It’s not like America didn’t see this one coming… and still voted for it.
Clearly, I was wrong. Mid-Terms cannot come soon enough. Hopefully there will be an election in 2028 (assuming we are still here as a country). Will be a cold day in hell before I vote for a republican again. There is a significant overlap between the smartest bears and the dumbest humans - Park Ranger designing bear proof trash cans.

I voted for who I thought was the lesser of two evils in 2016. By 2020 there was no way I could again vote for CHEETO. Same in 2024. This was all advertised in Project 2025.
For me Stephen Miller is the biggest worry.
Bend the knee and kiss the ring-requirements for job security. Never mind the oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic...
Spineless R's in the House and Senate. F' me.
Edit: Regarding the shutdown-
A post I made yesterday the the OT Forum:
"In a moment of clouded clarity MSM (either side) does not lay out the hard facts. There is a clean CR passed by the House (why not go on vacation) sent to the Senate to fund the gubmint thru 11/21. The Senate needs 60 votes to pass the bill (aka some D's).
The D's are locked out over health care language/funding that expires 12/31.
Now vs 12/31?? I'm missing the picture here. "
And yes the health care issue needs to be resolved but not by holding the gubmint hostage.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
There is nothing stopping the GOP from ending the shutdown, completely on their own. They don’t actually need any Democratic votes.
Yes, they would need to kill the filibuster to do this, but ask yourself why they haven’t done that already. It’s not because Trump loves the filibuster and thinks it’s the world’s greatest invention, discovered by his uncle who was a professor at MIT."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Thought this was satire, but turns out it is a real post. Just because you say it, doesn’t mean it’s true. “that era is no over” 😳🙄😂🤣
Unless he means now we just use the military instead of LEO? Then I guess it would be true.

and all the while, schumer could fix this......Key examples of non-payment allegations include:- Trump Taj Mahal (1990): After the Atlantic City casino opened, records showed that at least 253 subcontractors were not paid in full or on time, including those who installed plumbing, walls, and chandeliers. The Edward J. Friel Company, a small cabinet-making business, went bankrupt after allegedly being stiffed for $83,600.
- Trump National Doral Miami (2016): A Florida judge ordered one of Trump's companies to pay $300,000 to a paint supply company, The Paint Spot, which had waited more than two years for payment for renovations. The dispute continued after Trump's attorneys attempted to delay the sale of the resort.
- Trump International Hotel, D.C. (2017):Five contractors who worked on the hotel sued Trump's company, claiming nearly $5 million in unpaid bills. One company, Freestate Electrical, sued for $2 million in unpaid work.

A big problem with “non-essential” is Trump’s meaning:

i dont hold anything against laguadia, it was along time ago. back in the 80's and it was more like...look at that. just part of the experience of nyc. that day i saw a murder seen, a car get gifts stolen from the smashed window in back on park ave, and a gang of young adults beating up 12 yo punks in harlem. at the time i thought it was all par for the coarse
atlanta though was a pain in the arse with the lines fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
I lucked out in Atlanta - some TSA agent took pity on my family - we were lost and standing in a line that looked about 4 miles long. He opened a side door, motioned to me, and we all slide through. It was some private screening line and we breezed through on 5 minutes. Now Hertz at Atlanta was another story.

ATL does an amazing job pushing through 110,000,000 passengers a year given that its design is geared towards ease for the airplanes rather than making it super convenient for passengers. When you live here, it is a pretty convenient airport considering how many places you can fly domestically and internationally non-stop.
