Fig preserves or stuffed figs for a party?

Stuffed figs wrapped in bacon (whipped cream cheese, garlic, and Serrano peppers) - these were amazing!
Cheese cake with figs inside and topped with figs glazed with sugar. This is still cooling for tomorrow, but can’t wait.
and of course Fig preserves about 3 lbs of figs and only added a tablespoon of honey (most recipes call for ~1lb sugar/1lb of figs - these figs are super sweet on their own) and some sliced lemons for the pectin.
Used up about half the 150 figs. These were just funsies for us - preserves I have done before, cheese cake my friend had done, and the stuffed figs she made on the fly based on the dates from this weekend. We picked them yesterday and needed to do something before they went bad. I think stuffed figs wrapped in bacon maybe one of my favorite bites ever.

I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Amazing compilation of pics. Figs are a favorite and I remember our family home back in SA having a huge tree that we used to gorge ourselves on, always a race between us vs the birds😂Greensboro North Carolina

we have friends who live in Crestview, Fla and have passed it more than a few times trying to make good time to the panhandle...the sausage was 3.99/lb so the 6 lb box was actually a clip cheaper than what wally world gets for it.shtgunal3 said:Been past it hundreds of times, never been inside. Didn’t go in today either. Maybe on the way home.
We also procured some peach habanero jelly...

I typed "1.34 bananas = " in Mac Spotlight to see what I got, it only offered grams and calories...

Just ordered one of these as a retirement gift to myself. I know I know it’s a pellet pooper. Forgive me though I’m old and lazy now. Surprisingly there is a 3-4 month waiting period on them.

If I don’t like it I can always give it to one of my kids or grandkids.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Sitting in the dark without power. We had a torrential rain storm, traffic was down to 15 mph on I 10. Quite a few traffic lights and apparently power poles are out. The dogs are happy that I made it back. Since my WiFi is out along with the power I had best stop now, almost out of data.

@SGH you will enjoy the quality and craftsmanship of that rig from LoneStarGrillz. I landed one of their Santa Maria (with argentine add-ons) grills almost three years ago. It is a whole new cooking experience for me and a definite hacker. (Even finessed a packer brisket on it dang near out of the gate). The first indicator is the packaging when it arrives. Lots of 2 x 4's and plywood protection along with heavy duty shrink wrap.
Enjoy the rig-great gift to yourself.

Thanks for the kind words my friend. As far as Lonestar I’m very familiar with their quality. I have one of their cabinets as well as the El Patron. My El Patron is serial number 9. I thought that was pretty cool.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Just made a small batch of Gougeres. These have lots of Gruyere, some sharp cheddar, a couple eggs, some milk and water, salt, scallion, chopped red onion, red pepper flakes and dry mustard powder. Fairly easy to make on a stove top, I'm too much of a coward to try it in an Egg.The batch was larger but I've been nibbling.

Fig Cake
my brother-in-laws mother’s recipe)
2 cups of flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 ½ cups sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp cloves
½ tsp nutmeg
1 cup oil
3 eggs 1 cup buttermilk
1 cup fig preserves
1 cup nuts(not peanuts) chopped
1 tsp vanilla
Sift together dry ingredients and spices. Add oil and beat well. Add egg then add buttermilk slowly while beating. Add figs, nuts, and vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured Bundt pan and bake at 325F for 1 and ¼ to 1 and ½ hrs. While hot pour the sauce over the cake.
Sauce for Fig Cake
½ cup sugar
2 tsp corn syrup
¼ cup buttermilk
½ stick of butter
2 tsp vanilla
¼ tsp baking soda
Mix ingredients together and boil for 3 minutes. Pour over the hot cake.
Needless to say, NOT diabetic friendly.
