Here's a celebration you can support tomorrow. You can practice today to make sure "all systems good to go!"🥃
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

It's good but that's one where opinions seem to diverge. Personally at that price point I think the Angel's Envy rye is much better.RRP said:Any opinions on Whistle Pig bourbon? I keep walking by a $97 bottle in a store I regularly shop."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

bulleit rye for me, i find that whistle pig to fall flat and the angels envy to be a little bit too sweet. a long ways to go to taste even half the bourbon/rye selections.......fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

@RRP- below is my take from a few months ago and is unchanged:
"My initial review of the Woodford Double Double Oaked-Taste points about the same as the double oaked, lacked any noticeable and distinctive finish. Glad I did it once but not again especially given the proud pricing. FWIW-

Unfortunately I wasn't able to partake in this event at a local establishment due to being laid up.
Pretty reasonable prices, at least around here:
MMBGE / Large BGE / XL BGE (Craigslist Find) / SF30x80 cabinet trailer - "Ol' Mortimer" / Outdoor kitchen in progress.

The bourbon call is strong; though with post-tariff actions in these parts, there are no bourbons - or American anything - to be had.Wifey and I did sneak in a few old stock bourbons on Thursday. Went to a place for cocktails Thursday (a neighbour apparently worked there and kindly bought us some drinks) and then at the place we went to for dinner, we bumped into my uncle and his family (They bought us drinks and dinner).Better to be lucky than good, as the wise would say.

@CTMike - those price points are unbelievable in this day and age. And the one pour per brand would put a true hurt on me that I would gladly enjoy going in...🥃Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Not a brown-water consumer here at all, but I watched a segment of CBS's Sixty Minutes tonight and was fascinated with the culture/history/commerce of oak barrels starting out in Kentucky, and then spending years aging different things and traveling around the world (the barrels, not the booze) and even ending up back in Kentucky for "ultra-nuanced" imbibements. It almost read like an audiophile's argument about the sonic improvement of a $17,000, 3-foot power cable (that's not made up). (mebbe I stepped on a few toes here, so be it).
Anywho, I thought it was interesting and as Bourbon Day weekend draws to a close, I'm posting it here:
