Really good.  I actually picked this up at our local Total Wine.  Do you have those out where you are?

I’m curious on your thoughts about the double double oak when you try it. I’m a fan of the double oak, but it’s a huge price increase for the double double oak. I’d like to know if you thing the flavor on the double double is worth the cost.

@Ragingirishman2 - I had a rare opportunity to buy (at MSRP) a bottle of the double-double oaked.  The flovour (nod) profile is a bit more intense than the double oaked but definitely not worth the more than double the price point for me.
But all bourbon palates are different.

I previously purchased 2 bottles of the Double DO when we did a tour of the Woodford Distillery in 2018. At that time you could only purchase it at the distillery and it was $50 for a 375 mL bottle. After I tasted it the first time, I remember thinking that I should have bought more.

When I open this bottle, I plan to do a side by side tasting with the Double Oaked. I did something similar with the Knob Creek 18 ($200) vs the KC 12 ($80). I hope I’m not disappointed with the Woodford SxS like I was with the KC.

there is an order of operations here that could unlock something special. a mythical sequence that is the path to an enlightened state.  a state where one is capable of being very certain the burps and smells are signs something else is nearby, something “squatchy”. evidence of bigfoot as mystifying as when my dog reacts to a fart she didn’t know she did. happy friday everyone

Very good @JohnInCarolina just the right amount of hops, not over empowering. One of the easiest drinking IPA’s I’ve had.

Very sweet, not a daily or multiples for sure, but kind of fun occasionally.

a guinness — and i dumped the can in the recycling without removing the plastic wizometer!!  living dangerously on a good friday — please give this sinner a wide berth
I picked up a foursome of Guinness zero. Not quite the same. There is a full body mouth that you get in the real deal which i miss in the GZero.

That wizometer brings life to home consumed Guinness.  Worth seeking out!

Too bad the zero was a letdown.

Widget is correct name for the spherical Guinness can implant.  Wizometer (pronounced wizz-AH-muh-tur) was an absurd weather rating scale on local news in Atlanta.  It was not a spherical object on a tower like other doppler radars. Wazowski however is a spherical bodied character in Monsters Inc.  If you noticed your boots are wet and the wizometer is low, it’s probably rain. If the wizometer was high and your boots are wet, hopefully it’s not Wazowski taking a Pixar.

yep, and before Guinness grabbed the name "widget" it was business slang for an unknown. sor the MBA word for "thingy" or "whatchamacallit".  In the play/movie HTSIBWRT the main character (a lazy scam artist) sneaks into a business that is so screwed up that all the execs just talk about the widgets because nobody knew what the business did. Perfect for him to rise to the top (and he does).

I wonder if people now seeing the movie on TCM or SSC think that the business was making parts for beer cans.

I picked this up on the string recommendation from a friend in one of my bourbon groups. It’s supposed to be Wild Turkey distilled. I have a sample of 16yr Buff Turkey (Wild Turkey that was distilled at BT) that I want to do a side by side with.
