I wasn’t thrilled about my T-Mobile hot spot, made in Vietnam the password printed on it was, “quit.chief.posing.improper”. Coincidence? I don’t knowCanugghead said:@alaskanassasin here's the thing...never mind.South of Columbus, Ohio. -
Had lunch at Rodney Scott’s today and saw they had lump for sale. The bag is bulky so I assume it has carbonization similar to Rockwood. We shall see.

@kl8ton Nope, it's in CAD, we're not the 51st yet or ever😂. Lots of good reviews and the price is right.canuckland

All this talk of the 51st state, and no one is mulling over the obvious solution staring us in the face……Clearly, America is an interesting case. Led by a man I call Premier Trump. The only way this thing really works is for America to become a province.

Yeah, y'all can be Greenland's........DoubleEgger said:

I offer F'ed times we live in. But this too shall pass. It's just gonna be a challenging ride. One we don't need to endure.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Canugghead said:Anyone tried Teflonised foil? First time using it, really slick, hopefully it won't shred the skin.

In Bill’s defense, people used to tell us asbestos and cigarettes were safe too.

there was a interesting Netflix movie, "The Devil you know"..DoubleEgger said:In Bill’s defense, people used to tell us asbestos and cigarettes were safe too.
Goes deep into emails where Dupont formulated emails to the FDA giving exact instruction on how to formulate consumer communications concerning the PFOA issues..
At the end of the show they show Dupont moves an element to determine, the new stuff, its not the same..
There was also research to determine if any humans alive didn't have PFOA roaming around in their blood...i think the eventually found some but from several years previous...
I cook in stainless steel or cast iron..

Well @billt01 I hope it is old cast iron, the new stuff is made from scrap of questionable quality/origin. Flip side of the coin, I’m not interested in roaming around looking like the Crypt Keeper so if my CI and second hand smoke from BGEs takes me out… I have had a good run.

My grandfather died of asbestos. Horrible way to go.
-
I totally agree @billt01 it is how my people usually go out. Not pretty. But my years of pesticide and molecular biology research have exposed me to enough that I’m sure that is a box I will check before too long. Doubtful my foil choice will made a dent in my telomere health.
-
Mine too! Just curious, was he in the Navy? My Pops drove a Higgins boat in the Guadalcanal, but also had a lot of exposure later as a plumber.DoubleEgger said:My grandfather died of asbestos. Horrible way to go. -
Like I said, appreciate the warning but I'll take my chances. So far I plan to use this for hot smoking salmon only, which happens once in a blue moon at 180F, not like breathing asbestos 24/7 or inhaling a pack a day of cigarette smoke.canuckland

That box said no PFOS.Canugghead said:Like I said, appreciate the warning but I'll take my chances. So far I plan to use this for hot smoking salmon only, which happens once in a blue moon at 180F, not like breathing asbestos 24/7 or inhaling a pack a day of cigarette smoke.
And for the broader crowd, cancer is just what gets us when we outlive measles, tuberculosis, influenza, smallpox and all of the other previously preventables.
When we start manufacturing iron lungs again, we'll need to be sure they don't use scrap and don't teflon line them.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
Darwin has plans A through Z. I spent a couple of hours at the cardiologists yesterday. Nothing serious yet but a hint to my future exit strategy.
-
True, but I got scared into thinking they replaced PFOS with some other questionable stuff 😂Legume said:

three generations in my lineage before me has /had asbestos in their lungs so my doctor had mine checked with a ct scan. asbestos free, but they found other things that will kill me. the older you get the harder they look......fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Cocaine and hookers. That is the way to go out.

What about canned food, make sure the can is not lined or coated? I miss Stike

I want my cans lined/coated. Better living through technology. Either the pesticides, the fertilizer, PFAS, or PFOAs will get you. There is not getting out of this mortal coil alive.Canugghead said:What about canned food, make sure the can is not lined or coated? I miss Stike

Hell I would take my chances with Little Stevens (RIP) suitcase chicken before I use that foil😉Greensboro North Carolina
