Bummer!  Just learned this morning that Blue Man Group are hanging up their PVC pipes and retiring!

Some may view them as just a Las Vegas act, but they developed a totally unique persona, comedy show, their own musical instruments, and a worldwide empire.

And they were musical.  I have both their audio CDs and a DVD concert, and it is wonderful music, a struck tube of PVC has such a great, percussive sound.  Glad I got to see them live a couple times.

@Botch - I was lucky enough to see Blue Man Group a few times over the years.

I'm not sure why, but I always wondered if the vibe of this Pearl Jam song was inspired by their sound at all:

Sure sounds like it; and the styling of that video sure looks like the cubicle worker featured in some of their shows.  Wonder if it's the same guy/studio.

I'm glad you agree.  Your musical ears are surely much better than mine.

The song stands out in the PJ catalog because it's very different from most of their other stuff.  But looking for a link, I never found anything online.

I think the creamed corn on white bread sandwich the mostly toothless guy at the gas station ate is still undefeated.

Um, not quite.   ;)   It's the shadow of the "Blue Ghost" spacecraft that landed on the Moon a couple days ago; that's the Earth in direct sunlight in the sky.

I don't know where this restaurant/pub is located, but it has one of the most beautiful/clever logo designs I've seen.

@botch, that's next level. Apparently there isn't a real restaurant with that name, it was an art project/challenge?

Speaking of logo, not sure if you've seen or heard about "three men in a hot tub"?

It was our Ontario provincial logo featuring Trillium, the provincial flower. Lasted 13 years (2006 to 2019), scraped by current premier Doug Ford.

    Here's an interesting fact:
Alex Ovechkin tied Wayne Gretzky's NHL record of 894 career goals in his 1,486th game, one fewer than Gretzky's 1,487.

Alex refused to break the record with an empty net goal. Tip of the hat to him.

    Content for woodworkers/shop nerds only:

I found this kid during the COVID thing, and he was amazing.  German Engineering student who built a shop/video channel in his folks' basement, who possessed a magical mix of woodworking knowhow, deep understanding of electrical things AND software, and a great Mechanical knowledge.  In this video he talks thru all his projects, which include his highly-automated drillpress he got from his grandpa; mods to his CNC machine which zero'd itself, changed it's own bits, and vacuumed itself; homemade dust collectors (including the impellers!); his homemade plywood bandsaw; mods to his inherited industrial lathe; on and on. I think I've posted a couple of his videos here before.

I kinda lost track of him, possibly between moving from an iMac to a Mac Studio (am on my older iPad right now).  He's moved out of his folks' place (assume he's graduated) and built a new business/office/shop area with two other folks, and then painstakingly moved his shop to the new place.  Watching him move his sliding tablesaw and jointer/planer out of his folks' basement, up thru a spiral staircase, is frightening.

Maybe I've posted about this guy before; if not, you'll be amazed by this video, (if you're a maker) guaranteed.  Enjoy.
