Principled throughout, he was focused on bettering humanity. The challenges of the late 1970's and the Iranian revolution were his downfall. Yet after leaving office he continued to do good works for the nation and the world. We could use a whole lot more leaders like him.

Rightly said, Cap. Recent direction in politics, here and elsewhere, is that values are no longer a prerequisite for leadership. And that’s a trend that should have us all very concerned, IMO.
