OT-President James Earl Carter died today at age 100 -OT

Principled throughout,  he was focused on bettering humanity.  The challenges of the late 1970's and the Iranian revolution were his downfall.  Yet after leaving office he continued to do good works for the nation and the world.  We could use a whole lot more leaders like him.

I always respected the work and efforts he put into housing people through habitat for humanity. Right down to picking up a hammer himself.

Rightly said, Cap. Recent direction in politics, here and elsewhere, is that values are no longer a prerequisite for leadership. And that’s a trend that should have us all very concerned, IMO.

He was also a submariner, Naval Academy graduate, and taught Sunday school. He dedicated his life to service and helping others. He was a good man.

As Cap said, his presidency was marred by the Iran Hostage Crisis, and the failed rescue attempt. 

So he may be looked on as a mediocre President, but he was an amazing humanitarian. 

RIP Sir.
