Beer-And-Caraway Braised Brats

Did these last weekend. It’s an APL recipe. The only thing I changed was to do them on the BGE instead of a gas grill.
The bath:
I just used a cheap lager for the beer, not much point in anything else.
I put this right on the grate, direct. Made it easy to pull off and then just sear the brats on the grate, before dipping them back in.
Here they are after the sear step:
What’s great about this process is just how much flavor gets packed into the brats, and they turn out super juicy. This recipe is about as easy as it gets and was a crowd pleaser.
The griddled onions are worth doing too:
I just did those on the stove top griddle we have:
I used the same griddle to toast the buns. For toppings, instead of the sauerkraut I used a homemade relish from Matty Matheson. It’s super easy to mix up and well worth the effort:
Highly recommend this cook if you’re looking for something easy for friends or family.

Any cook with a seven pic tutorial is way above my skill set. But that looks great.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Well that doesn't look like ****.

Upon further review I ssee where APL has a thing against light/lite beer. Clearly the correct call .Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
