What do Canadians do on Canada Day? I imagine it's some version of going around congratulating everyone, in the most friendly and polite way possible."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

we stand around waiting for the other person to go through the door. It's called a "Canadian standoff"~~

50% (if not more) of the population move to new homes and the other half is drinking in their backyards. A small percentage of cool dudes are going to celebrations.JohnInCarolina said:What do Canadians do on Canada Day? I’d take that over an “American standoff”.zaphod said:we stand around waiting for the other person to go through the door. It's called a "Canadian standoff" -
Watch air shows. I live across the river from parliament hill and the airplanes are turning around just above our backyard for the air show. I think it says all you need to know about Canada that they’ve never felt the need to upgrade their Air Force beyond propellers.paqman said:

I’m on my 5th poutine today

Thank you to our Southern neighbours! We’ll similarly be thinking of you all in a few days’ time.Biked to a downtown spot that is prime viewing of our Snowbirds. Pretty great view, albeit from a different angle than @paqman. Good, cheap eats (tacos and hot dogs) and drinks (IPA, pina colada, Prosecco and an orange juice).

Making a new video? I love Poutine, but 5 in a day may be too much for me.unoriginalusername said:I’m on my 5th poutine todayI would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

The locals were less then hospitable. We passed through there on an RV tour. Tried to find a place to overnight and every place I called was rude (I think it was because I spoke English). My wife driving in a separate vehicle went into a Starbucks and spent 15 minutes trying to order a simple drink, one you could just point at the menu to order, and they pretended to not understand. She walked out without coffee. We continued on. Once we landed for the night in an English speaking area, the locals there explained that Quebec doesn't even want to be part of Canada. The locals are rude on purpose. That was my very limited experience.paqman said:

Belated thanks to all the well wishers. Been busy with our son's family moving in for about three weeks while their house undergoes renovation...rinse and repeat with our daughter's family, back to back.
@paqman we made the mistake of wearing Canada Day Tshirts in Quebec City on July 1 many years ago, you know what that's like!
Turkey in July...
It was hectic but we managed to put something on the table...Low and slow turkey breast, SV turkey leg roulades, Korean pork skewers with marinade from a jar
