Sounds about right. They went out of style 20 years ago.

Way cool!First 100 orders come with free matching green “truck nuts”.Honestly though that is pretty cool “flip” of the egg design.

You know that old saying of “if you have to ask the price then you can’t afford it”
BUT D*MNIT what is the price plus purchasing instructions? Surely not every ACE will carry one!

Cool to see. I wonder how it will do in the market, given the advent of "smokeless" fire pits, like the SoloStove, Breeo, etc.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

agreed, I see very little value in it to be honest compared to the fire pits you mention. but, its green and ceramic so I will buy one, for science and stuff .... Plus the brochure says it has NASA grade ceramics, so it kind of seems like a no brainer.caliking said:Cool to see. I'm curious who their target audience is going to be besides extreme BGE enthusiast's for them to be asking $600 for a ceramic chiminea?"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

I talked to someone in BGE retail yesterday and they told me they are aiming for around father's day, but they had no concrete information or price. I am sure this person doesn't speak for the company, but it somewhat backs up what has been shared here.

What does this mean? My memories of live fire is smoke blowing in your face. I much prefer the ambiance and heat without the carcinogens.

What seemed strange is the shape of that top looks like it actually pushes smoke into the people around it.
-
I thought the same thing and then I looked back at the original diagram along with that little drawing at the left lower corner and it appears the top of that weird cap actually has a large hole in it. So I'm guessing that the louvered cap actually causes air to be sucked in and forced out the top. That make sense?cookingdude555 said:What seemed strange is the shape of that top looks like it actually pushes smoke into the people around it.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
It does make sense. Very cool. I have zero use for one of these but getting more excited to have a green roasted marshmallow maker. When my kids were younger they would roast marshmallows on the exhaust of an egg after a hot cook. I suppose this will be similar. Except I can’t cook on it.RRP said:
