One of the really insightful and talented musicians I follow is Adam Neely. Here he goes on a US tour with his band (which he usually doesn’t do) and films a “day in the life”. I’ve spent some weekends going from town to town, semi-locally, and a lot of this brings back fond, and hideous, memories. I’ve never slept in a tour bus, but I have been dropped off at home as the sun was coming up, by a competent driver, and spent many a night in a bug-infested motel room with 2 or 3 others. Done a few showers in truck stops, and scrambled to tear down my rig (sucks as a keyboard/ multi-instrumentalist) for the next band of the evening).
I’m glad I got to experience this for a while, but I certainly don’t miss it.
