Grill grate brush?
Comments

My wife and I was eating at a bbq joint not far from home a couple years back and she ordered a burger. They cook on a pit outside with some sort of grate. The first bite she took her eyes got huge and I could tell at the look on her face something was wrong. She was freaking out and reach in her mouth and pulled out a long piece of wire. It was stuck in the top of mouth. It really scared her. So it's no common but it can happen and I guess it's a possibility someone could choke. We knew the owner and told her because we didn't know where it may had come from but she said it did come from a grill brush.

I switched from a wire brush to a dandelion weeder a few years ago. It works as well as a Billy Bar and only cost $6.95 @ Home Depot.
I don't want to push my luck. I used to run after the DDT fogger trucks when I was kid at Glynco Naval Air Station near Brunswick, GA. All the kids on base did it. I guess I'm OK...I guess.

Cedar shingle. Cut notches with the corner of a bench grinder wheel. When it gets crappy toss in the fire pit and start another.Columbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

Before I had my Billy Bar I also used a wooden paddle in which I drilled holes and then when the end got worn down I'd just cut off the bad end. It actually lasted several years!Jstroke said:Cedar shingle. Cut notches with the corner of a bench grinder wheel. When it gets crappy toss in the fire pit and start another.

Someone on here turned me on to this for my grill grates and it works like a champ. Just dip it in water and scrub. Works great on my wok too.

Been thinking of trying something like that for my biscotto saputo pizza oven floor (not as hard as the more common cordierite stone), less aggressive than metal bristles. To avoid melting, plan is to let oven cool down a bit after burning off spilled toppings, then dip brush in water before scrubbing. The Cen-Tex Smoker said:Someone on here turned me on to this for my grill grates and it works like a champ. Yes. I use it in my Roccbox. Works great. It won’t melt but it will catch on fire lol.Canugghead said:

Ah… I thought you were talking about “Grill Grates” the brand. That is what I use the Palmyra brush for.

This is what I use.tcampbell said:My wife gave me one for Christmas. Its a grillart. It is wire but it's woven almost like a slinky. Real heavy built and the woven wire is all in one piece. I have not used it yet but I do believe it will hold up better than the ones with individual wires. Like he said in above post it's wound around a heavy frame.
