Warranty when moving Eggs to a different country
Stormbringer

If I move from UK to Canada and take the Eggs with me, does anyone know if the warranty will be honoured in Canada? I've asked this question in the UK (they didn't know, but said they would honour warranty claims if someone moved Eggs to the UK) and emailed the mothership (no response in over a month). This assumes that the Eggs get to Canada in one piece, of course, but if they don't that's an insurance claim.
Maybe the wise @The_Buffalo would know?

The warranty page says this:
Warranty claims must be made through an Authorized Dealer or Distributor within the original country of purchase.
So, you might have to file your claim in the UK. Seems dumb.Clinton, Iowa -
I can't imagine that many eggs get moved cross border. Fraction of a fraction of a percent.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Given this, you might want to sell what you have now @Stormbringer and buy new in Canada. By removing the shipping costs you might not come out too far in the red.Langner91 said:The warranty page says this:Warranty claims must be made through an Authorized Dealer or Distributor within the original country of purchase.

This. I moved in the U.S. and the movers wanted $300 to move a L. I ended up selling it for $500 and buying new at destination. Pretty much broke even.JohnInCarolina said:

You are right! They do speak French, but they love the Queen. Maybe both France and UK have ownership? Like joint custodykl8ton said:

Darn, missed that. I think @JohnInCarolina is right, I'll sell in the UK. The shipping we are using is a flat rate based on half a shipping container, however there's also the factor of insuring breakables. Of course if it breaks in transit, and the insurance pays up, that's a brand new Egg for "free" when we get to Canada.Langner91 said:The warranty page says this:Warranty claims must be made through an Authorized Dealer or Distributor within the original country of purchase.

i would really like to know what bge has done all these years with those warranty cards. my bet is there are no records being kept and if they are, what are they doing with my info. ive never received a marketing flyer in my mailbox, a marketing type email, or anything like that. i doubt theres a special uk serial number on your egg. i would still sell them, saves those shipping problems en routefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

I would move the eggs only if you can use them on the open sea during transport. That would be epic.Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

Joking aside...
Agree with selling and repurchase. However, if breakage insurance is not significant and you want to keep your egg(s) for sentimental reason may be it's worth pursuing the warranty?
I know BGE Canada features eggheads' cooks in FB regularly. Perhaps if you can get their attention and showcase your blog and amazing BGE cooks, they'd want to work with you as a brand ambassador? Heck, they may waive the warranty bureaucracy or even give you free eggs

Yes, you've got a massive problem, a total headache, a real ball acher. But I'll tell you what. Drop them around mine and I'll make all the pain go away. What are friends for?Stormbringer said:

Other girls may try to take me away
But you know, it's by your side I will stay -
The answer is yes, as long you meet all requirements of the warranty. (receipt, didn't crack them in the move, didn't void the warranty in anyway, etc.)Stormbringer said:If I move from UK to Canada and take the Eggs with me, does anyone know if the warranty will be honoured in Canada? I frequently walk into Ace Hardware stores and ask the guy they have manning the Q section if he’s heard of The Buffalo. If I get quizzical looks I just walk out, because they obviously don’t deserve my business…Legume said:Look, some guy named the buffalo said it's cool, so where's my new firebox?"I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

Interesting. Things may have changed, AFAIK most if not all Canadian dealers refuse to warranty eggs bought 'legally' in the US at a significantly lower price.The_Buffalo said:

I smell a business opportunity. I will provide warranty parts obtained legally for eggs purchased in the US in exchange for Crown Royal...
