New egg table with granite top

New egg table I have been working on for a bit. Almost complete. Barn style door still to come to
cover the opening on the right side. Pretty happy with it and just had to share. Top granite I had cut to fit. Very heavy but so much nicer than my previous wood table top

Looks nice. Is that a covered screen porch?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Sure is. Pool screened in enclosure. Almost a requirement in Florida to keep the bugs out.

Thank you very much. I priced granite all over and luckily had a buddy with a neighbor who does granite work.…….. some prices for the top were crazy to be honest. The egg is about to turn 10 so I think she needed a better home in my opinion.

COOL..I just hope as a seemingly newbie that you have already eggerencied not opening your BGE dome too fast so as to see a HUGE fire ball go straight up to melt that FL screen top!RRP said:Looks nice. Is that a covered screen porch?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
Beautiful looking table! That granite top looks gorgeous and will be so nice to work on. Can set hot stuff on it and can prep on it! Plus super easy to clean.
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

RRP, I am a newbie to this site but after 10 years with the egg, far from an egg newbie. We all know to burp her before opening at high heat.
-
I like it. I am currently rebuilding mine after 10 years. Looks very similar.

Were you able to find a drop piece on the granite? Some places have some left over from a job and you can get a deal.

In my John Wayne voice, "well done, partner".The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.
Holding the company together with three spreadsheets and two cans connected by a long piece of string. -
It was an extra piece of level 2 granite. Got it cut and delivered for $280. I had a few quotes. Had one for $450 and another for $875. I was very fortunate to get what I did. This was a very close friends neighbor and he did all the negotiating for me.Tspud1 said:Were you able to find a drop piece on the granite? That is a heckuva deal. I had a guy quote me $715 for a “scrap” piece of soapstone
