The issue arises from cheaper "tufted" grill brushes like this...

some one hung a nylon bristle brush on the weber, been using that lately. dont know the dangers of those but have not melted it yet
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -

The V-notch grid cleaner is the way to go IMHO. No parts to replace, works on all grids, doubles up as a grid lifter, and charcoal/ash stirrer!The_Buffalo said:Just so you know ....
BGE has not carried any metal bristle brush grill cleaners for years due to this concern. Our current grill brushes are made from Palmyra, a natural and eco-friendly fiber -

I didn’t realize that Billy Bar sold out to BGE, but THAT product IS the ORIGINAL Billy Bar! Don’t believe me? I’ll gladly post a picture of my second and yet to be used Billy Bar that I received as a gift which still has the Billy Bar name on the handle.RyanStl said:

Is selling out bad? That's what all these companies are trying to do, sell their product.RRP said:

I suppose not, but...looks like the designer, seller etc of the Billy Bar was just an old f*rt like me so maybe he counted his remaining trips around the sun on his fingers and decided to cash in his chips!RyanStl said:

It depends. I admit to shedding a few tears when Wicked Weed Brewing sold out to Anheuser-Busch.RyanStl said:

@RRP
”Excuse me as I’m not very horse smart, but doesn’t horse hair stink when hot? Especially that horse hair near the butthole of said horse hair tail"
I've been around horses a lot, and their buttholes are a wonder indeed. The butt crack on a horse is so deep that it's sphincter has had to adapt and turns itself inside out to sort of push the poop out beyond the butt crack. Also, I think it's relatively hairless so making a brush out of it wouldn't work very well. If I was a horse though, I'd let someone try because I know it would tickle a little and who doesn't like their bum tickled, either with a brush or for a brush.
Now my father is a real horses ass, I've seen him naked and he could make a brush or two for sure. It would definitely smell though, cause he stunk so much as a father some of that must have come from his nasty a$$ hair.

Kinda late to the party, I use my Dad’s 12” mason’s trowel. The thought was it would clean multiple steel rods of the grid simultaneously. Nope. I find myself using the tip to clean individual sides of rods in the dirty parts of the grid. Not a time saver. The modified dandelion puller intrigues me. What do I know? The extra time goofing around with the grid allows for an extra beer.

@Fred19Flintstone - you have definitely found the positive right there. Congrats.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

When I scrub the grill, I have one of those triangle shapes ones that is a single piece of coiled wire. Most of the time I just blast it with the weed burner after I light the egg and put the grill down.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

OMG! this topic terrified me so much! I went right to the Billy Bar which I've just learned appears to have been bought out by Big Green Egg and dubbed the rather unfortunate name V-Notch Grid Cleaner.Plymouth, MN
