Looking for Kitchen Shears.

Anyone have some kick butt Kitchen Shears they recommend? I saw the Shun Shears had plastic handles, I would prefer all metal but plastic is ok.
Thanks

I would recommend, whatever you get, that they can come apart for cleaning. My Henckels is sharp and has good leverage, but is a b*tch to clean.

Good point @Botch. Looking for something with decent handle size too.

We have a Cangshan knife set from Costco, one of those in a wood block where half of them never get used. The shears that were included are nice, been very happy with them. Similar to this pair... https://cangshancutlery.com/collections/kitchen-shears/products/cangshan-1021233-d-shape-forged-stainless-steel-shear-satin-finish-9-inch-overall-length

I have the Wusthof 2-piece kitchen shears. It has synthetic handles but they are dishwasher safe. It cuts through chicken bones like butter for spatchcocking. Same for lobster tails. After 20 or so years, they are still like new and I have never sharpened them.Large Egg, PGS A40 gasser.

I have two pairs from Misen. I have been impressed with their stuff and with these. They are really well made. They do, however, have plastic handles.
Best $15 I ever spent on kitchen shears!

Worked great until the spring took a crap. I replaced them with cheap amazon shears~ John - Formerly known as ColtsFan - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

For heavy duty cutting I use this

This vvv is our favourite for everyday use. Broke after 10+ years (don't ask how it happened
). Sent pic to manufacturer on Monday, replacement arrived Thursday, no questions asked.

I've had a pair from CUTCO for over 30 years now. They are still extremely sharp and have never failed me yet!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Tojiro Japanese shears. Very happy with them thus far.

You don't need anything fancy unless you're aiming for poultry shears.Reviews and price are great here:______________________________________________I love lamp..

Those don't come apart but they're dishwasher safe. Dishwashers sterilize whatever you put in there. We have some Wustoff shears that do come apart. They work fine. You really want two pairs of shears so you can always have one ready to go if you have the other in the dishwasher.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Thanks @nolaegghead I use regular scissors for most things but I spatch chicken every time and I have broken some handles, I thought shears would be nice.

Another Cutco believer. Like @RRP have mine 30+ years and spatchcocked plenty of turkeys and chickens and have never been disappointed. Expensive? Yes, but guaranteed for life plus free lifetime sharpening as well. Send mine back once a year just to get them sharpened, whether they need it or not.

These work grate!

Harbor freight. $0.99 cuts thru almost anything and cheap to replace.

The KA shears are relatively inexpensive, and work well for spatchcocking chickens, among other things. We have 2 of them. Haven't tried spatchcocking turkeys.alaskanassasin said:Thanks @nolaegghead I use regular scissors for most things but I spatch chicken every time and I have broken some handles, I thought shears would be nice.
The HF scissors broke. Yes, they're cheap, but you either buy a few at a time, or expend effort to go back and get another pair.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
Many pairs of poultry shears over the years. Henkel's, OXO, Walmart, etc. The one you mentioned in your original post has been by far the best. Spatchcocks chickens like butta'. The Shun Premium does not have plastic handles, just coated to allow for a positive (and painless) grip. They don't slip even when a bit greasy. 90 degree twist to separate the SS blade/handle assemblies for easy cleaning. I like these, but frankly I am sure many peoples' favorites here will be fine.
I would stay away from spring loaded units with straight handles. Grip issues when wet/slippery. That's just me.Always act so that you can tell the truth about how you act.
