    My grievance, low turn-out at the now quarterly opening of the Zoom/Speakeasy.  We used to do much better and friendlier...
    You can fix this!

    My current grievance: in conversation just now with SWMBO the definition of a police “detail” came up.  SWMBO insists they are all side hustles (private, outside the regular force duty) and my understanding is it’s anything specific assigned regardless of who is paying for it.  Clarity @Battleborn?

    You are correct. A detail is a specified action (motorcade, blocking traffic, foot patrol, etc.) that an officer is sent to do for a set amount of time. LadyNola is referring to OT, at least for us. We are not really allowed to have side hustles without department approval and all OT is ran through our department and charged to those requesting extra officer presence (which is a lot of places in this city).
