@nolaegghead: Sorry brother! You are doing amazingly, btw. An unparalleled resolve.

I'm fine, really. For a hedonist, I surprised myself by going this long.

I mean it when I say you are doing amazingly. I think few here could demonstrate the same resolve.nolaegghead said:I'm fine, really. For a hedonist, I surprised myself by going this long. -

ok... this was quite delicious. I've never made it with egg white before, nor garnished with cayenne.
Cheers.

The egg white means it’s the perfect post-workout drink.caliking said:ok... this was quite delicious. I've never made it with egg white before, nor garnished with cayenne.

As for the cayenne, I don’t even remember how that made its way into my mix. I don’t think that’s traditional, but for me, it’s a nice counterpoint to the sweetness and acid. -
Your comment got me thinking. Made another one, but garnished with chaat masala this time.GrateEggspectations said:

Chaat masala is a mix of a bunch of things… pepper, cumin, carom, fennel, Kashmiri mirch, black salt, and other stuff. Any Indian store should have it. Look for MDH brand (preferred) or Shan.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

So good with the egg whites. The alcohol cooks it if you crack an egg into your shaker.

Thanks for the memory kicker! Probably 50 years ago now my late aunt who lived 80 miles from me who was as straight laced as her Lutheran religion taught her to be somehow let on that she secretly liked an alcoholic drink called a “”whiskey sour”!
I surprised her soon thereafter with my friend’s recipe for them and talk about making an old ladies eyes light up!Thereafter when we would visit I would always take my blender, glasses, whiskey and all makings and she LOVED it!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
@GrateEggspectations I blame you for a certain someone going down a whiskey sour rabbithole last night.
There were a couple of other versions tried, and that certain someone came close to being overserved

Just hoping it wasn’t served out of a plastic bag by a campfire. 🙃caliking said:@GrateEggspectations I blame you for a certain someone going down a whiskey sour rabbithole last night.

That’s a solid one.Have to say tho….
My favorite Whiskey Sour recipe is:
-Two fingers excellent whiskey in an old-fashioned glass or short tumbler
*alternate*-As above, plus one or two ice cubes
(if your wife reminds you that “you are driving”) -
Where does the “sour” come from? Must be the drinker.PigBeanUs said:That’s a solid one.Have to say tho….

Looks great, John, but now I realize I was always serving my aunt her whiskey sours in those tall slender glasses with the smaller mouths. I used to call them skinny tulip glasses. OR just maybe I was secretly afraid giving my old aunt too big of a glass it would have knocked her on her frail Lutheran butt!JohnInCarolina said:

What exactly is "honey syrup"? Wiki is indeterminant.
