^^^ High-speed photography is a fascinating field, one that I’ve worked with a bit twice in my career (nuclear weapon safety, and my two years at Thiokol (space shuttle boosters)).  Local Salt Lake City company http://www.cordin.com/ makes them, I’ll have to find the video they shot of a grenade exploding if I can.  
Thiokol set up one of their cameras to video the ignition front thru a space shuttle booster (Reusable Solid Rocket Motor, or RSRM).  The RSRM has a hollow center running from top to bottom (with very precise fins built into the propellant which controls the propellant burn) and is actually ignited at the top, not the bottom as you’d expect.  The ignition front starts at the top of the rocket and spreads to the bottom, but it doesn’t burn slowly downward as, say, a fireworks fuse; its a violent explosion and the whole length of the rocket is burning within microseconds, from the center.  
The Corbin camera was mounted off to the side of the nozzle, with a mirror mounted at 45˚ under the nozzle so the camera could “look up” the hollow tube in the engine, without being directly in the exhaust plume; didn’t matter, I was told just the acoustic energy of the exhaust, that close, shattered the expensive camera (the ignition front was recorded remotely (most of it), fortunately.

I found the above really interesting as I started out college as an Aerospace Engineer, not Mechanical.  The designer also worked on both MInuteman and B-1, as I have.  
A couple things didn't make sense to me, though; he applied his work on torpedoes to aircraft, but a torpedo flies thru water (an incompressible fluid) and an aircraft flies thru air (compressible), and the drag physics are totally different.  He also talked about laminar vs. turbulent flow, but I remember from my freshman year that sometimes turbulent is desirable; I may have to review my first-year text on aerodynamics.  
I also had to chuckle about the brags that you can "walk into the plane upright", and "stand-up straight bathroom", with the 6'2" clearance; like your standard 737, that doesn't cut it for we properly-sized 6'5" hoomans.  
Fun project.
