About that new masthead picture

excuse me if this has already been tossed aound - but how was that fearured ribeye steak cooked? It looks pretty dried out, but not overlooked! With that color I wondered if it  was just  photoshopped by someone not accustomed with what a grilled steak even looks like!

    I’m kinda with Ron on this one. That steak has looked stiff as a hockey puck from day 1.

    almost stiff like.....there was a bone in it or something.   Seriously, tho, it looks like a typical blackened steak.  That's where you put a rub on the steak with a bunch of organic matter in it (like herbs) and it burns on the pan and looks dry.  Just doesn't add up that blackening would have traveled all the way from Paul Prudhomm(i)e's home to Atlanta.  Improbable.  Yep, photoshopped.

    With all the gorgeous food pictures the users here post, I am always disappointed to see a photoshopped photo up there.  Rotate them often, there are always great pictures to choose from!

    The steak is cold. 

    They amp saturation in photoshop

    it’s staged and crappily done, agreed. But there’s no mystery. Food in advertising rarely looks like what food *really* looks like. 

    I’m sure it makes sense to food stylists and ad-men. 

    Remember the shot with the absolutely clean BGE interior, a fake flame, and the grill-mark covered steak?

    Just a bunch of white collar suburbians drinking and trying to act like they're friends having a good time. One looks to be drinking water (the fitness fanatic), one looks to be having an evening mimosa (he probably gets pegged by his wife), the other two look to be drinking sh!tty beer (probably Michelob Ultra).
