Pretty sure the beer I recently had was aged in the 1792 barrels. Cheers!ColtsFan said:

Wife got me a "happy" today. I must say, it is pretty dog gone good. Not all special editions hit the mark, this one definitely does.

I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I've learned not to check prices when she buys Bourbon. I just enjoy it, I am a cheap SOB, she is not.TechsasJim said:Holy smokes that looks outstanding. Nice wife, no way that bottle was cheap.
Not only does it taste really good, coconut, oak, and some vanilla which I really enjoy. It is not sweet even which surprised me. The bottle is pretty cool too, it is ceramic and the painting is not a plastic wrapper, it is permanent.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

I've talked to a couple guys this week that have both paid $100 for a bottle of Blanton's, I hope yours wasn't that pricey.
Meanwhile I spoke with my local store and they say they price theirs at $55 (when they get it).LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas -
I got it at a local ‘big box’ alcohol store and paid their list price, which was $69. I got a bottle there 5-6 years ago and it was $59 then, so I didn’t think that was crazy.TechsasJim said:@Acn

If I can get them for regular prices, I’ll usually pick them up and pay the difference for scarcity, but I’ve never gone into secondary bourbon markets or paid crazy $$$ for a bottle, I just can’t discern that much difference from the $40-60 bottles that I regularly have for drinking (plus a bottle of Bulleit for Old Fashioneds or Boulevardiers) and can find on the shelf all the time.LBGE

Unfortunately, nobody in my area has allocations. I wish I could get it for $65/bottle. I would buy everyone they had. Some of us do not have the option to buy first hand, sadly.TechsasJim said:@Acn

Score, I'd pay $69 for it. On the occasions when I have found it at Total Wine it has been $65, which I assumed was the new MSRP. When my buddies told me they paid $100 I laughed. Blantons is good, darn good, but for me, not for $100.
