Cleaning Deep-Frying Oil Using Gelatin

If you do any amount of frying, this is worth trying I think.

    Just saw that today. And timely, too - just fried up some stuff yesterday, and have a big jar of oil to clean up.

    Kinda sounds like the same process of using gelatin to clarify home brewed beer before bottling! Guess that gelatin loves those proteins, huh?

    I think those produce drawers are 1.5 - 2 gallons each

    Depends on what you fried.  I’d go with alder for fish fry chud.  Maybe a fruitwood for turkey.

    I tried it. Seems to work as advertised, but I was somewhat underwhelmed.

    Only had a pint or so to deal with. For the time and effort involved, I could have just poured it through a coffee filter, and called it done. 

    May be worthwhile,  if you've got a larger volume of oil to clean up.
